I missed exactly what the governor said about the stash of weapons they brought back... I'm going to rewatch the episode right now and pay closer attention. I guess I won't be totally surprised if Merle is a mole... just doesn't seem like he would go against his brother. Merle is a survivor, I just don't see him having more loyalty to the Gov than to his brother... been wrong before... and will be again.

 

Agreed that Merle is the mole. This would also fit that he wanted Michonne to go with him to the meeting after seeing the terms of surrender.

Also, I think that Andrea will end up taking out the Gove during the inevitable upcoming fight.

Andrea doesn't feel safe with the Gov anymore IMO
Merle's head would be on a pike if he showed his face near Woodbury, unless it was all part some crazy master plan (Gov did seem pretty calm during the rescue, crazy or pleased?)

I think there are Scouts in the Woods. Has Andrea even been to the prison since the gun gather with Morgan?

 

The Gov says "I know you got guns, that was quite a stash you brought back the other day"

Either there was a pretty big screw up by the writers, or there is a mole. A scout from the woods would have no way of knowing what was in the Hyundai when they came back from their run. If it comes up again, it will be Rick killing Merle about it. If it doesn't come up again, it was a plot line screw up.

Andrea was already gone, back to Woodbury, when they made their run for guns.

The further I get into the episode (for the second time), the more I'm thinking that Merle ending up at the prison was part of a bigger plan... even though there are a lot of holes in the plot line to go against that theory.

 

Morgan told the Gov about the guns

 

Someone in the woods with binoculars wouldn't be able to see them unloadin the guns?

 

And that's what brings Morgan into the last episode?

 

Merle is just to gung-ho to go and kill the Gov WITH Michone. Seems to me that if he was that worried about his brother that he would have gone alone.

 

They were in duffle bags... and they are in a prison... there aren't exactly windows to peak through.

 

Seeing as they aren't the smartest group they could've pulled them out of the bags just to inspect the merchandise in an open area?

They could've seen the crossbow that was on Michonnes back and just put two and two together?

I'm not saying that the theory is strong... just that it is certainly possible.

Maybe a scout followed them to the town then questioned Morgan/watched them load up the guns? There's a lot of ways/scenarios that could explain how they know about the gun run.

 

I think somebody just saw them leave and come back with a bunch of duffle bags a few hrs later... Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what might be in there. I think Meryl's days are numbered, he's a real shit bag.

Somebody watching the prison from the woods seems pretty easy seeing how the Gov's crew snuck up on the prison when Rick and Herschel were at the outside perimeter fence

 

Yeah, but they didn't show the guns until inside the prison... I still say it's a mole and Merle would be the most obvious choice. However, Andrea could have mentioned it upon her return. Or, as another said it's a screw up by the writers...

 

Negative. Do you think that the gov and crew would have let him live? Somehow I don't think they are a compassionate group...

 

Am I the only one who doesn't mind Merle?
