Well its official, I'm going to be trading in my 08' tC for a Tacoma. Decided I wanted to get back into riding/racing dirtbikes (trail / motocross), and well a tC just isn't very versatile for that usage. Though I was able to transport my bike 600 miles (disassembled in the back) to my house from my parents :p

Anyways, new to the Tacoma scene, but by no means new to the Tayota (pickup) scene as I've owned a many 80's model yodas. So I'm almost settled on an 09' Double Cab TRD Sport, just wanted to get some opinions, and if there was anything I should look out for when selecting.

I'm actually going to be using the Factory Employee Insentive program, so should get a pretty good price (waiting on the pricing paperwork still) - any options that just aren't worth it regardless? any that are? I'm very much a DIY-er so kinda trying to factor that in.

Well, plan on making the purchase before the end of the month (June). Hope to hear back, and glad to be becoming a part of what looks like a great community.

Nice to have you! I wouldn't spring for the JBL system. For what you pay for it you can have a much better system aftermarket. Also look into getting the Rear Leaf Spring TSB done before you take delivery. Especially since you will be hauling dirt bikes

Have them do the 4 leaf TSB as a condition for the sale. Read the posts of this TSB.

Thanks for the tip, will def look the RLS TSB. Was def going to pass on the JBL system, didn't see anything in that option package that interested me really, the BT connection seems fun, but I know I'd never use it. Already getting all antsee waiting..

I'm still in a toss up between Black or Speedway Blue.. thinking I want to go all blacked out, kinda common now days, but I like the look. But always like the speedway blue as well.. decisions, decisions...!!!

IMO Black over blue...there is a thread somewhere that asks...Is speedway blue a girls color?

One quick (maybe dumb) question - is the 6 speed manual an option on the double cab 4x4? doesn't show on the online configuration wizard thingamajiggy..? Also I could be wrong (been a while) but I thought there was a 6 speed automatic as well? or am I thinking Tundra only?

Ok - think I figured it out, they do offer a 6 speed from what I've read in the spec listing, the site configuration is just retarded. Hmmm so now the question of 6 speed or automatic.. Think I'll go stick.. :D

Awesome - I can't wait to get mine - went to the dealer this weekend, only one in even remotely close of what I want. Apparently there aren't many manuals in my area either - only problem now is getting rid of my current vehicle (Scion tC) - they didn't wanna give me anything for my car for trade-in. And because I'm going employee pricing, thats the only thing I have to make money off of. Might have to wait till it sells out right :(
