Was considering shackles for for the price and only getting 1/2 inch drop i don't see the point
i think 4" blocks is safe IMO but id also say its the limit though
Id be doing 4" inch angled and offset pin
Just wanted to see if anyone had pics or know if the dim notch will work with more than just 4 inch drop

it will work with taller blocks, BUT because of where the top of the notch is and where the bump stop has been relocated, you won't get much of a drop (probably enough room of about 0.5" or so until you bottom out constantly or what have you).

attache some images of the DJM notch installed. will give you an idea of how much of a notch you have if you go with the DJM notches.

So probably 4x4 leafs combined with 4 inch blocks wouldn't fit with the DJM notch? I am running 4x4 leafs with 2 inch blocks no notch with low pro bumpstops wanted to go down another 2 inches possibly 3:/

Thanks for the pics though gives a way better view than just djm website

I dont see why they wouldnt? Im running pre runner leafs with 2 inch blocks and ive got about 3 inches of clearance im about to add the djm notch which will give another 3 inches so add the 4 inch blocks I. There and I got 4 inches of clearance basically. So should be good. Ill let you k ow I. The next 2 weeks once I get it all on.

I noticed last night that these stupud bunpstops dont thread into the. Notch all the way. Pretty crappy. Did you leave it like that? I might just drill out the threads and slide it all the way through and just use the nut and a washer to tighten it down. Dont need to thread it in I guess. But its an extra step blah.

with 4" blocks and 4x4 leafs you will have about 5 plus inches of drop. the 4x4 leaf pack alone lowers the rear about 1.5/1.75". The DJM notch was design to go only up to a 4" drop.

not my notch. as of now I am going to be running with a 3 to 3... ish drop till I get all my bag parts in order to install. from there might go with a notch or do a custom notch. posted images to get an idea of how much clearance OP will have.

Yah thatd be another way to do it, probably faster! lol I think we'll be ok with this set up tho, as far as carrying heavy loads, i talked to a guy who has those ride right or ride assist firestone bags, i forget which one, he said he runs em flat and has used them like that for a few years. i might do the same

    ha ha maybe maybe!

i think the 4x4 leaves only brought me down like 1 inch lol. Guess we'll find out when i put mine on and try to load my bike in the back, cross fingers!!

thats what i got now, keep us posted on the bags man i wanna see your set up, always been interested in doing that myself, but i wouldnt even know where to start! lol

gah!!! 0.5/0.75" of drop. Was tired when posting :(

With the 4x4 leafs and 4" blocks, you will be closer to bottoming out more than you would with just your stocks and 4" blocks. Reason is, with the stocks and 4" blocks, you have a good 0.75"/1" clearance before tapping frame/low pro bump (no frame notch). Also factor in how much room the low pro bump takes up within the notch and that's your FULL clearance (within the notch, hope I am not confusing you). Air shocks will be ideal in this case, BUT keep in mind they can only do so much and it's not wise to keep them at a high psi all the time (although intended for load leveling, at a certain psi, can be used to aid in STATIC lowering applications). Given the overall clearance, you will still feel cracks on ugly roads @ 20/25 miles an hour but on a clear road it's beautiful.

    Check out my build:)

Yeah I took a look at it last night currently with 2 inch blocks and 4x4 leafs i got 3.75 inch drop
Leaves me about lil over and inch between the axle and the bumpstops and possible almost 2 inch from the frame no bumstop
I see what you are saying my previous truck was a 2000 gmc sierra 6 inch flip kit after the notch I still had my air shocks and they rode real soft like a caddy but only on huge bumps it bottoms stiffer drop shocks fixed that though

If the the notch is about 2-3 inches deep I believe I can get away with running 4 inch blocks and 4x4 leafs just gotta have either qa1s or drop shocks should have 2 inches of play between axle and bumpstops inside the notch
4 inch blocks will more than likely be ordered from BEEFED so I can have offset pin and hole as well as angle

Just try a get a feel of whether I buy the whole djm kit with notch or just the front kit and have someone locally weld me a notch

I had 4 in blocks stacked on 2 In blocks lol djm notch and dead stock springs only if I had weight In the back I would bottom out but I had about 2-3 inches of clearance cuz it was really bouncy .. I got xrunner bilstein shocks now its pretty stiff but I got choke clearance cuz I took off the stacks.. I'm planning to go 5 inch blocks and de arch stock leafs 2in

Oh yah for sure I think I also wanna get beefed blocks from Brian cuz these djm ones look the gay! So cheap looking compared to his work.

That's good to hear cuz with 2 inch blocks and 4x4 leafs and my cbr 1000 in back I was sitting frame on axle. Def need that notch. I got the qa1s too! Cranked em up to 14 clicks
