Do you mind me asking what that cost?

I agree that the stock seats were made for you littler folks. I am 6'2" and 250 with a bad back, I don't mind the stock seats, but they definitely could use an upgrade. Not sure if I am going to have a shop rebuild them or swap them out, neither is cheap.

Replaced my rack bushings, sway bar bushings and outter tie rods. I couldnt get the top nut to torque to spec. I didn't realize I installed the U bracket upside down. Today I tried to install the U bracket the correct way, now the nut just spins although its sung not tight. The stud doesn't turn. I did take it out for a test drive and all is good. I'll just keep an eye on it.

Maybe a stupid question, but what size bulb would I need?
And is it very hard to pull the gauge cluster out to work on it?

Very nice seats Smuooks! If it makes your back feel better during those long daily drives then it's worth the $ for sure! Less on the medical bills so think of it as an investment! :D

I know many of you are pretty cool with the original stock front seats but let me tell ya, sitting in a 3rd gen 4runner limited with the cushy leather seats and then moving my flat a** into a 1st gen taco seat is like moving from heaven to hell. I was just spoiled rotten with the fit and trim of the old 4runners! :(

    I agree.

The stock seats weren't brutal for me, but at 6' 190 lbs and 160,000 miles on them... I knew it could be better.

I am really loving my Forester XT seats. So comfy, supportive and a vast improvement over the stock buckets. My only issue with them is that they don't recline forward (incline?) so access to the rear quarter seats is tough. My 6 year old daughter and her friends have no problem getting back there, but me... no so much.

I like your seats, they look good. I just need to find a guy I trust to make me a bracket.

Also, I definitly need them to go forward. I have the 6 yr old, 2 yr old and one on final approach... don't forget the dog. I always need to reach back there and clean stuff up or even reach the jack and stuff. Car seat/boaster seat in and out.... don't forget the dog perch I made.....

Damn, I am glad I bought the wife a Flex to haul the kids around. I have limited seating for a reason, I would kill them all if I had to do a long trip with them all crammed back there.

At 6'5" and 260lbs, I can concur that the stock buckets are not so desirable. However, I did pull off a 10,000km trip over two weeks this past summer (Arctic Circle vacation). Not the most comfortable trip, but doable.

I think I've got about 5 threads bookmarked for the eventual seat swap that I hope happens this summer. My biggest fear is buying something online that won't fit me once I receive it.

I was gonna say... you don't need the Tacoma seats to slide forward... you need a different vehicle to haul 3 kids, a wife and a dog.

Congrats on the one about to land, btw.

The Forester XT seats don't slide forward because they came out of a four door vehicle. If you get WRX or any Impreza seats that came out of a 2-door, they will slide forward.

The WRX seats Jon and I installed in his truck slide forward and give plenty of room to access the back.

You're a big fella and there's only so much room for seats in our trucks (I think the max width the seats can be is 22"... somewhere around there don't quote me on it).

But yeah, I would never pull the trigger on $700 seats if I wasn't able to sit in them. That's why I was so grateful Jace met me and let me sit in his Forester XT seats before I pulled the trigger on mine.

I missed out on a set of Mini seats on CL. I am keeping my eyes open for another one of them. Really comfortable!

I can take the whole family camping with my truck: Wife drives and I ride the enduro bike behind them, problem solved and chance of survival for the kids on a trip like that goes up 100%

rear bumper is long gone! there's a pretty serious kink/crease in the metal as well as a tear in the metal, but if you say it can be done I guess I can give it a shot. can't get any worse..

    thanks
