Anyone know why it's so hard to find RC cars with rechargeable battery packs? I never see them anymore and hate buying batteries for ones that require batteries, they never last long either.

im assuming youre talking about toy grade rc cars. All hobby grade rc cars use rechargeable batteries.

I've caught an old novak cyclone esc on fire, that was pretty cool. I've also blown a rod in an RB .21 engine, that wasn't pretty cool.. 230 bucks

 

I want to get into the RC hobby! But I also want to get into photography and the aquarium hobby... I can barely afford to keep up with my truck let alone 3 other hobbies as well... Haha

how often do you guys tune your nitro engines? seems like everytime i run my losi i have to tune it.

 

you usually have to tune to the temps and climate of where you are running. so lets say its a bit hotter or colder than the day before, it will probably run different. When I go to the track people have do re-tune their engines like 3 times just in one day. morning, mid day, and night time.

 

alright sounds about what i thought as well. i really need to figure out this whole tuning shit cause thats the only thing stopping me from having it run properly every time. the manual kinda makes sense but its confusing as to which screw i need to turn to tune it. the idle, low end speed, or high end.

as far as i know that's accurate , i tuned mine by running it on the ground though, instead of holding it and revving it.
i also left mine just a little rich.

 

Got a question: Whats a good truck for my boy to run around the neigborhood with. He is only 4 at the moment but he runs the shat outta his wal mart truck.
I need something that will be good in grass, rocks, street, indoors, and water resistant. I sure once he finds water, the truck will soon find that same body of water. I don't think he is ready for a fast one yet but would also like something that is not to slow. We need something with a decent run time. Not sure how these new electric trucks and batteries work. I also enjoy RC, so there is a good chance I will play with the truck when he is not around until I can get us two.
Any advice would be awesome!

Not sure what your budget is.... BUT..
You Find a used Traxxas slash4x4 on eBay or Craigslist. You can detune it with a simple pinion gear change and put the ESC on traning mode so you can keep the RPM and speed down.

I thrash my Slash4x4. Water, mud, and snow. You Name It.. I have tested that thing to the max. and it still keeps on working.
