How so? I would think that clothing, feeding, sheltering, etc. someone for the rest of their (hopefully miserable) life would cost far more than putting them down. What is it that makes it more expensive to do so? Also, I'm not trying to be a jerk by raising an eyebrow at your post. I'd just never heard or figured that before. :D

    x2! So's a length of rope.

But Trees Grow Everywhere and Rope is Cheap.

The Fact that the Lethal Injection Needle has to be sterilized before the injection blows my mind.. I also don't understand why people cant "Suffer" when executed.. Shoot them in stomach and let them bleed out.

Not knowing right from wrong is bullshit. Even sociopaths have a distinct knowledge of right and wrong, from living in society.

Insanity plea bargin is bullshit. Put a fucking needle in his vein or a bullet in his brain. It is not possible to drive to a mall, bring your weapons, walk inside, and then begin shooting without realizing what you're about to do.

I have strong feelings on this subject.

I assume this means to the suffering part.. but really why do they have to sanitize and steralize the injection equipment.. that would be like having to polish and sharpen your lawn mower blades everytime you mow.

Tell the people who had their loved ones taken from them that they can't judge or comprehend... Obviously, if you go into a theater of people and open fire, you aren't right, something is seriously messed up inside your head. Whether he knew the difference between right and wrong, to me, is irrelevant. I believe pro-active diagnosis and treatment for mentally unstable people is a very good thing and I would support it whole heartedly. To look at it after an event like this and say, well, he didn't know what he was doing is bullshit, it doesn't change what happened so I think he should be tried for his actions and face the consequences for them. When he's got the needle in his arm or is locked in a jail cell, he'll figure out really quickly that what he did was wrong. I have no sympathy for him regardless of his mental state.

The only reason that is true is because of all the appeals and court costs. If it's a quick trial and flip the switch, the actual process of putting someone down is not expensive, you can thank the lawyers for making it so.

Like it or not this is the country we live in. Everyone has rights to fair trials and appeals.

But If I go to pick the death penalty laws.. I would go for Murders, Forciable Rapes, Henoious Assults on Children or Elderly, Sexual Assualt of Children..

Pretty Much all those crimes that leave the victim dead, wishing they were dead, or permintley affected phyiscally or mentally.. ( which I know everyone can still twist into what ifs.) I just think that if you executed people within a year or so of conviction when they are guilty without a shadow of a doubt, and do it quick and maybe even publicly crime rates would go down, when criminals know they wont get to enjoy TV and Hot meals then get paroled or released to do it all over again

This is true, but If there is hard evidence DNA, Witness, Camera footage.. and basically No way you were innoncent or you confessed .. they should just execute on the spot. It would reduce crime.

Cleary Rape is Rape.. but there have been cases out there where the man or woman involved claims they were raped when they werent. Or some cases are considered rape when an indivual is say 16 and the partner is 20.. I had a co worker get arrested for 18 months (paroled after 6) for sleeping with a 16 yr old a few times over a month, she said she was 19 and ( her fake ID said 21) he met her at a bar.. but he still got arrested and is now a "Sex Offender"

Say he's found guilty in a fair trial and to be of sound mind, there were a LOT of witnesses, what is there to appeal other than to create a stall tactic? You'll never convince me that it's about rights at that point, it's just exploiting our judicial system.
