So i pulld into the gas staion for some snacks and when i went out to start my truck it just "clicked" and would not start...it did this twice. the third time it kinda wanted to start but died real quick...the 4th try i gave it a bunch of gas and it started up....
Any idea why this would happen?

Bad battery? Maybe you just got one with a bad cell in it. Get it checked out.

Yea sounds like a battery going dead that would be the easiest to check

Giving gas won't do anything during starting. Only works with carburated cars. AND we are drive-by-wire anywho. Try tonight going out and turning on your headlamps when the engine is off. If the headlights are SUPER dim, the battery is shot. If they're fine you may have a bad starter maybe...

Check the battery or starter. If you have accidentally left the interior lights on for a while.... then that can drain a battery. FAST

yah, but he drove it, parked, turned it off and went to turn it right back on and it failed. So it wouldnt have been that exactly.. BUT it could still be the battery becuase it could just have gone bad.. Id throw a load tester on it when the car is off and see if from pole to pole youre getting at least 11.5 volts. then check your starter and alternator for voltage too. If you dont know how to do that, go to Kragen and ask them.. they do that stuff for free

You can go to autozone and they will check your voltage coming out of your battery and the voltage going to your starter.

cool thanks for the input. hopefully it will be as simple as the battery.
but once it did begin to start it acted like it wasnt getting any gas, so i gave it a little and it kicked right up just fine.
but either way ill get the battery checked out

    jer crazie!

I just went and got my battery checked, it was just a little low, the alternator was fine.
it did have some corrosion on it so I got a wire brush and cleaned off the terminals, so hopefully that will help.

How about the fuel pump? I had mine go out in my old t-bird a few times (go figure), I can't recall what noises it made when I would try to start it. If you find yourself out somewhere and it does it again you can try hitting the fuel tank with a hammer or flashlight while someone else tries to start it.

Where is the starter on the V6? I looked for mine while under it and did not see it in the usual spots (left or right rear of the block).
