First generation (1990-1994) DSM.. aka Mitsubishi Eclipse or Eagle Talon. Make sure it's AWD (GSX for Eclipse and tsi AWD for Talon) and get ready to have the time of your life! They respond SUPER well to mods and with AWD they're beasts on the streets and at the track. I've owned many vehicles and most all cost more than my 1990 Eclipse GSX but to this day I still contend that that was the funnest car I ever owned.

Bwahaha! If he gets half that he'll be doing good. It's an auto and the autos were dogs and aren't what the 'collectors' look for. Hell, my Supra was an auto and that's what I wanted but trying to find the type of person who buys these and pays all the money AND wants an auto... good luck with all that.

The V8 guys like to say: 'There's no replacement for displacement' to which us DSM guys used to reply: 'The only replacement for displacement is technology'

Heck yeah those old DSM's can take some boost... All the way up to the crank walk. They are fun though I had many of fun times in the old Talons, and Lasers.

Crank walk is a worse problem in the 2G's. I had a 1995 tsi AWD as well and it got the crank walk. That and like any interference motor you need to stay on top of timing belt changes but you do all that and they can put down a WORLD of power. 12's w/basic mods and a medium turbo upgrade at this elevation is pretty common. Perfectly street-able year round and gets decent MPG for what they are. My buddy used to take 5.0's w/NOS out to CR15 and spot them 3 or 4 car lengths, let them launch first and real them in by the top of 1st gear with ski rack and all season tires on his car. lol

Yeah my Eclipse was fast but had nothing on my Typhoon. That thing would make people (men and women) scream on launch. It was friggin' nutty.
