Quick photo. Left is the new 6.8 and right is my 5.56. I will get some better photos once I get the scope mounted and might change the gas block on the 6.8

theres a AR Stoner on midway for 299, its got some ceramic coating but as of lately i have not been hearing good things about their quality control! i keep my eye on AR.com's BCG in-stock thread http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_3_4/595389_In_Stock_Bolt_Carriers.html&page=286 and ARpartsfinder.com but they are not cheap regardless in todays market! another option could be armslist for you. or you could find a shop and get on a backorder list for one, just my $.02! i did the later!

how would i adjust the LOP on my AR?
it has a 6 POS. stock on it and it's about 3/4-1'' to short for my, the stock that's on dads colt fit's nice but i think the magpul stocks are expensive.

and if i get another stock can i keep the same buffer tube and just remove the stock that's on there and add another?

Thicker buttpad or new stock. Two basic buffer tube lengths - carbine and A2. Replacement stocks should specify what they use. Vltor makes some slightly longer stocks that fit your buffer tube. You will need to know if your carbine buffer tube is of mil spec or commercial diameter if you don't want to replace it.

are you sure you want a longer LOP? I know its up to the end user but I only keep my stock pulled out one or two clicks.

My prices never went up and I have stock again on some stuff. Mostly handguards, stocks, BCM gunfighter charging handles (medium and large). Still have a good 40-50 uppers to build so that eats up all the inventory of BCGs I am getting.

i think so, it's gonna be my hunting gun and if i'm lying down shooting coyotes i'm gonna want a little bit longer stock.
    thanks for the link
i'm leaning towards new stock, eventually i want to go to OD accents and a OD stock and some OD rail ladders for the front.

    ok
the vltors are expensive though, dads colt has a magpul crt on it and that's long enough, i might just spend $50 and get a cry.

    my BT is mil-spec.

My hunting AR uses a carbine buffer tube with a CTR stock and it works great. Has the extra clamp down to secure it so it doesn't rattle. I do run it 1 click out more than my carbine but ultimately if I was to stand and shoot off hand my shooting style doesn't change much (if any). That little bit does help if I'm sitting against a tree hunting yotes and using shooting sticks or in a stand or prone off the bipod. I would go adjustable for those reasons but you are right there are some very expensive setups out there that just aren't needed for that kind of hunting. If you go fixed. Check out the ACE skeleton stocks.

thanks for the info, i'll do some measuring to see what my LOP should be.
    oooohhhhhhhh, pretty.

on another note, i ordered my red dot (cheapie UTG, i'll eventually throw it on a 22) and i ordered a picatinney to harris bipod adapter.
And maybe next week i'll have my BCG, if not then i'll be taking a incomplete gun to a un-neutered state.
