Nuclear plants are clean polluters compared to gas and coal but the waste needs to be carefully disposed of, the river they are built on is basically ruined, and some radio active atoms get in the air around the plant. Not bad for you and I but bad for people with a weak immune system.

The mighty Colorado is not so mighty in Mexico any more.


The Colorado River used to flow into the Gulf of Colorado.The river is a mere trickle now days and the Mexican Government is a little pissed off. We have built 6 dams on the Colorado to date. The river runs through porous sandstone allowing a lot of water to go down into the earth,that and the loss of water by evaporation due to the increased surface area ofthe river means there is less water flowing into the gulf. Another by productis the increased saline content in the irrigated lands from the Colorado mostis Arizona and California.
