Why can't i find another prerunner like mine?

I will post pictures today. Yes, it is a 4cl. And FYI they make TRD with any engine configuration. They are just a little more rare. Since people normally want the v6. Suprisingly, the 2.4 is quite enough. (If you value gas savings more than power) it gets up to speed just fine and when I want to it'll accelerate very nicely after about 3500 revs. The most it ever take it to is about 4200 revs. And that's only when I find an empty straight away and wanna give the motor a little work out. Or I'm passing somebody. I usually shift at 2500 or 3000 if I'm late to something or people are riding my ars.

 

I wouldn't be so sure.

The TRD package includes more than suspension differances...actually, the suspension is a small part on the list included on a Tacoma with the TRD option package.

Your cab/truck is just like my base 4wd but w/o the 4wd stuff. My 08 has not atrac, vsc etc either, but it does have the clutch cancel switch.

they didn't offer the 4cyl with TRD except on 1st gens, and the 2.4 is a 1st gen motor.
do you have the 2.7 or 2.4?

 

My flomaster 40 i put on myself. Sounds great. I'll post a video of it soon, Doesn't sound ricey at all, and on the freeway or anything over 50mph the noise completely dies out to stock sound which i like. only when you accelerate or decelerate does it sound, when cruising, it shuts up. Ive been asked several times once by a mechanic why i didn't have the v6 logo next to the prerunner logo.

 

From what ive seen there are only 2 engine options for the 2nd gen. v6 or 4cl 2tr-fe Engine. Ive never heard of 2nd gen using 1st gen motor.

Mine too, But the previous owner bypassed the clutch switch. i still clutch when i start though.

Looks like someone added a add a leaf which would explain why so stiff. Note the square ends on it and looks like 5100's for shocks.

 

I'm going with AAL and 5100s, nothing special.

 

What benefit would that add? I thought tacomas were pretty stiff as they were. Why add a leaf? What's that do for me besides tell me when the city needs to fill potholes and cracks?

 

Adds a lil more lift and helps w carrying loads so your springs don't sag when doing so. A shorter add a leaf will give you a stiffer where as a longer one will be more forgiving

 

So with 5100s does that mean they adjustable and i can lower it down if i wanted to? Reason i ask is i ride dirt bikes and the truck is way too high to easily load a 250 pound motorcycle into.
