hey, my names Mike. I'll be assisting you today.

Erik, if you will, I cant help but notice that ever since a few pages back, you have been interested in going the most expensive, biggest, useless way possible with your truck. may i inquire as to why you feel like you need to run 35" tires on a toyota tacoma, with a mere 239hp, and not much more torque? are you getting gas mileage in the 50's, and feeling like you need to bring it down to the low teens? lets start off with disecting your first plan of full a full LT set up, whilst you live in New England. planning a trip to AZ every weekend? or are you mostly interested in running pot holes over faster than any of your buddies can? I'm glad to see that you have since retracted to thinking about a MT set-up, hence asking one of us guys, running said set-up. can we run 35" tires on an MT set up? hmm, can you teleport to a year of your choice? I didnt think so. well the answer is the same in reference to running 35s on an MT set up. usually, when you spend 3-4k dollars for a good MT set up, put a lot of hours of work into your truck, and top off the shake with some good armor, you want your truck to be able to make a normal right or left turn at the end of the day. this, is why MT guys run 255/85's, 265/75's, 305/70's, 285/75's and 285/70's. because the tire fits, and also allow the truck to function normally. if you put 35s on your truck, i hope you regear to 5.79's, run fiberglass at all 4 corners (which would look horrible with armor/plate bumpers), and SAS.

long story short, were not interested in running the biggest most expensive tires on our trucks, to, in turn, let the fucking things sit in the driveway for 6.5 days out of week. we put big money into our trucks to make them MORE capable, not less. consider that.

Go 3" suspension and a body lift if you want to run 35s. There is no need to run 35s for any of the trails within a 1,000 mile radius of us. 33s do much more than just fine. Just my $0.02 having wheeled with 265/65/17, 265/70/17, and 285/70/17 tires.

The Duratracs gave me much more clearance. The downside to them is stuffing your wheel wells. That's why I'm going with a body lift to see if I like it

Good meeting up with you too - now I got a face with the name! I am just glad those adapters will get put to use somehow, hate seeing things like those sit on the shelves and waste away.

If you need assistance with any stereo installs in the future, let me know. I'll be sure to not over serve myself the night before and still be in a fog.

To answer the question, you can't run 35's without cutting. Depending on width, to run 33's there is trimming required.

Sounds fun. Sure will beat working. I'm not much of a beach person unless I'm surfing or fishing. Otherwise I'd rather be off in the woods.

I'm ready for more snow!! :yay: Although right about now, I'm wishing I had Mike's Duratracs to go play in the snow instead of the H/Ts...

Mike, nice response to the guy asking about 35's.

To the guy who wants to run 35's, you'll need glass, probably a regear and the Allpro LT kit wouldn't hurt to space your wheels out further. It's not cheap to run a tire that big on a Tacoma.

What kind of hit did your MPG's take by just trading to the M/Ts?

Not sure yet. Just picking them up side by side they are lighter than my old steel wheels/ highway tires. They're not really MT's, they're the version of duratracs Goodyear makes for Walmart. Pretty aggressive though.

I don't think I'll take much of a hit with mpgs. I noticed it took less effort for the truck to go up the large hill in my neighborhood where before I was usually in 2nd, now I can be in 3rd without lugging it. I had about 1/2 tank when I put them on. I keep track of fuel consumption/ cost/ mpgs on an app on my phone, so I may see some change next fill up.
