hmm... i think youre ready to get married when youre ready to get married. there isnt a timestamp on how long you need to be together first, although, realistically, i guess i wouldnt go marrying a girl after 3 weeks... which is usually the bangfest of the relationship. my wedding is 4/7, but we've been together for 3 years... and two bank accounts, checking and a savings account, its our money, and DINK, so theres quite a bit it seems.. for now..

Haha I agree, it's different for everybody. I've been with my girlfriend for 1 1/3 years and we aren't getting married soon, but we've talked about it. As for the "bangfest" we're both waiting for marriage, but I do agree that a month or so isn't long enough to know the person.

Well she's the only girl that has ever been at or seen my place. I havent ever brought any girl to my place. (Well the current place I live at. Old place has seen more girls that never needed to. Learned my lesson.) Never felt the need to bring anyone to the new place. Also their place feels more comfortable and I can always have an excuse to go home. Plus if they ever bring the need to stay over. I can always bring them to my friends guest house. Or I find a way to keep them up til morning. (Perks of working graveyard.) Some girls actually tried to trick me to bring them back to my place. Just because they know I've never brought anyone over. My last gf tried to get me to bring her back to my place. She usually ended up sleeping under the stars. Lol

Which part? Laid everything on the table? Well my gf did thought I was a player. Well that was the conclusion she came to because of my guy friends. Plus it didn't help that I was always on the phone texting with other girls. Lol

Actually most of the time I want to bash their heads in. Some girls annoy me. Especially when I try to hang out with my friends. It's like omg "what's your name, why haven't I seen you before?"

    My House Usually
How my wife and I do money: Both paychecks get DD'd into the same bank account. She figures out the money/bills/etc, then tells me I can take $___ for the week for my gas and stuff. I take that money, and throw it in my own little account I opened. She knows about it, she has no problem with it, I'm horrible with cash. Save what I can out of about $500 every 2 weeks.

It's been working out great for mods for the truck. I spend very little of what she gives me and stockpile the rest.

My girlfriend and I have only been together a year and a half, but have talked about the whole marriage thing and all that. One hot topic was how to handle the bank accounts when we move in but before we are married, or even after we get married. I don't think we ever came to a conclusion, we both could kinda care less either way really. Most likely it'll be a shared account and I'll have my own on the side for personal savings. I'm sure she would be fine with that. Besides, I have a substantial amount of saving that's I want to use for a down payment on a house one day and I'd hate to have that sitting in our joint account just in the unlikely event that we get into a huge fight and break up and she goes and empties the accounts. I have no suspicions what so ever that she would ever do such a thing, but it happens more often than people think, so better to sway on the safe side I guess.

Me and my gf are financially independent. She's more worried about her end. She has an idea about how much I have and she knows I can take care of her if I need to. But as far as when it comes to money. As long as we can take care of ourselves. There's no need to worry about. Thankfully we haven't discussed marriage. Not in serious terms anyway. We're more curious because she's Buddhist and I'm a Catholic.
