So I'm sanding down my fiberglass fenders before I paint them and I had a question, should I sand all of the paint off? Like to the point where it's white?

If they were already painted, you just need to scuff the old paint surface enough so that the new paint can bond better. It's called "keying."

Got my "special order" spark plugs from Advance Auto Parts today.

Tune-Up Time! by Kathy / Analog Soul Photography, on Flickr

FYI, the numbers on the plugs are K16TR11 and 3194.

Prices weren't too bad...and good to know they have or can order stuff if you don't have a stealership nearby. The plugs were $4.29 each and the wires were $39.79...not too bad.

And still looking for self etching primer for my wheels...going to paint them with the Duplicolor graphite wheel paint. Any hints on where to look? I've been to a smaller Advance Auto Parts (will check their bigger location down the street too) and Walmart. I did find "clean metal" primer at Walmart, but wasn't sure if it would be good for wheels or not.

Not sure what you have out there, but in Calofornia, O'Reilly (formerly Kragen out here) stocks the green self-etching Duplicolor primer.

Do it man! I did mine graphite a little bit ago and posted on here. The only place I found the graphite was a local parts store called parks. I didn't see it at Walmart or anything

I found the graphite wheel paint and clear coat...I'm just looking for the primer now. I'm not positive if it's needed, but it seems that my rims are just bare right now...they seem to have no finish at all. I guess a primer would be good in that regard and that's why I was leaning towards the one for metal since I haven't seen the "self etching" one around. Will look at a couple more places around and see.

We only have Advance Auto Parts, Autozone, Napa, and Bennett Auto Supply for automobile related stuff. Maybe I'll check those others tomorrow.

Home Depot, Lowes, Walmart are some other places too look too. I found that the wheel paint chips and peels easy.

I got mine at Lowe's, and I know the AutoZone has the self etching as well. I would definitely put self etching primer on (self etching adheres to aluminum and gives a base coat).

I had a bad experience with self-etching primer paired with Rustoleum High Performance Enamel on my stock wheels.

Though the self-etching primer worked well with Rustoleum bed coating on my rear bumper.

    Nice.

Get some 4-5" bump stop or you'll over compress them. Would hate to ruin those things.
