    talk about a shitty day...

    worked on the winch today to swap out the line...started off being a pain with one of the roller pins didn't have enough head room to allow me to shift the vertical roller over to get access to the bolt. bit of work with a flat head and i was able to slide the clip off the top groove though.

    then i was cookin...pulled the old cable out, coiled it up, swapped out my rollers, got the fairlead on, attached the new rope then after not even a full wrap of the wheel...my winch dies :goingcrazy:


    so took the winch off completely to troubleshoot. my solenoids were clicking over, so it seems i 1) have power going to the control box and 2) solenoids are reacting

    so i hooked the winch itself up to be hard wired...used the technique found in this video:

    hooked it up both ways, and nothing...

    so i'll be in the market for a new motor and gives me a good excuse to tear the winch apart and clean up the gears with some new grease...

    so the new line will have to wait...
