Make sure you collect payment before paying to unmount.

Nothing personal to the guys who've shown interest, but in the past it's happened that a guy will unmount tires in reply to "interested" replies, but the buyers never completed the deal.

EDIT - I read my post again, and it could come off sounding bad. But I really don't mean this as a slam against anyone. It could easily go down with the best of intentions on all sides something like this:

You figure: "Guess I need to separate them..." and get down to a tire store on, say, next weekend when it's convenient.

Felipe doesn't hear anything back and sees a good sale on brand new tires, and has those installed after work on Wednesday.

I need some quick help as I need to diagnose and fix my problem by tomorrow morning. I was getting off the freeway tonight, pulled up to a stop light and my engine died. I tried turning it over and it would barely start and die right away unless I constantly gave it gas. I kept having to keep the throttle up otherwise it would die completely. I'm thinking it's the IAC acting up, but I'm looking for some more options/things to look for. I have to have my 4runner back tomorrow morning as I need it for work. Any help is greatly appreciated and I'm going to clean the IAC right now. Thanks in advance. I have the 3.4L, auto trans btw.

Are you sure it's idle related? Have you checked the output of the alternator or the belt tension? What about the battery condition?

I'm pretty sure it is because no battery light has come one and it does instantly if the throttle is not applied. Battery is 3 years old and my alternator did have issues months ago but nothing like this.

Dude if your battery is bad it won't die right away, but if your alt is bad then it will.

Is it throwing any codes? This winter when I was up in the sierras I tried starting my truck and it instantly idled down and stalled out. Then about three weeks ago the check engine light came on so I took it to the dealership to have them check it and they said it was a bad O2 sensor. After looking it up, it exactly matches what's going on...the stalling out as well as some weird acceleration. Might want to check that out. My toyota service manual has some instructions for diagnosing the O2 sensor if it's not throwing a code yet, maybe yours does, too.

Edit: and it was exactly as you described, it would just stall out unless I continually applied the throttle.

It's not the alt. my battery light comes on if the alt is not working right.

I'll check the codes but no cel yet.

I think the alternator might not be charging the battery at lower RPM. Could be cables or the Alt could be going. If you have a second vehicle and some jumper cables, you could test this out. Connect the cables then start the second car. Start the Runner. If the Runner idles, then your problem is alternator or battery.

I'll try the alt jump if the iac doesn't work. Thanks for the offer on the UG but I actually have one sitting in my glove box. I appreciate it though.

I got P0120 but I'm not sure if that's because I have some sensors unplugged on the throttle body.
