I'm sure he was being sarcastic... there's already been more than 20 shootings this year

but getting hold of good firearms here really is a pain in the dick

I don't want to use a hi power rifle for hd especially loaded with fmj, it will over penetrate. Load the 223 with jhp and its a different story.

    i want to build either a x39 or 6.8 upper. (i can't decide which)
i like 223 to, but it's uses IMO are, light pig gun, coyote gun, fairly inexpensive (when compared to 308)plinker, and a lighter recoil centerfire for people to learn on.
i have a marlin 30-30, how do you like your winchester?
    this^^
i'm concerned when someone tells me they only have ball ammo for their HD pistol.
very informative, i skipped on the last 4 minutes though.

If you go the 6.8 route give me a shout that's what 90% of the uppers I sell are. That's why I use to hunt with until i step up to something that needs bigger (mostly so it doesnt eat me if I screw up) than its the 300WM.

Sell high and buy low. I bet you could break even once prices fall.

Ive seen guys online trying to trade .22Lr ammo for firearms...

i figure i could probably get about 900$ out of the 1500 rounds in spam cans

will-do, the only reason i see to not go 6.8, is ammo availability.

If I went back and do it again. Instead of buying a dd upper I would have built a 556 upper and a 300 blk upper...

I looked into the 300blk but it was a little harder to get the barrel I wanted. If your going SBR or suppressor than its easy but just a regular 16" barrel you need a pistol gas system on it and its hard to find.

Not doubting your PSA rifle (or mine for that matter) but have both of yall taken your rifles to carbine courses and ran them hard? If not then that is where the "top shelf" rifles are suppose to excel, aka not break.

For a dirt clod shooter/plinker it wouldnt make a difference.

With that being said I wouldnt hesitate to grab my PSA or my BCM if the Russians were invading
    YMMV
