    Heath...

We upgraded the wheels/tires on my sons 5 lugger last year. Ended up going to Discount tire and went with the Yokohama Geolandar ATS 225/70/15 which is just a slight taller/wider tire than stock. It fills up the wheel well much nicer. No lift or mod required. They have a good selection of wheels also. Here is the pic.

My 98 has 4 in.beefed blocks, QA1 up front, turbo. My 15 4x4 stock looking for lift and tires.
Thanks for the info thats exactly what i needed. Do you feel that is the largest tire you could have gone with or is there more room to fit something larger. still looks like there is a small gap that could be filled with a little taller tire. Great loooking truck love that color. Thank you for taking the time to post. What did that set up run you for everything from discount tire. May go by there after work and see what they got.

There is a little more room for more tire but since it's a 4 banger auto tranny I really didn't want to go any bigger. If I remember correctly Discount was running a special on a set of wheels and tires and he ended up paying $800 OTD. I went to the store on Phillips hwy at Baymeadows...they really do a good job and get all my biz. I'm sure any store will be fine tho.

Thats a heck of a price. Stopped by Discount today. found some really nice black rims i think they were XD's looked sharp 110 bucks a piece for 16X8's then they had some BFG rugged terrain 235/60/16 for like 150 a piece. total out the door was 1240.00 OTD.

Really nice set up but I think i wanna go bigger and i deff. am looking for a better price. So the search goes on...

Also posted on the 2nd gen Market place...

    Feeler: WTS/WTT 2008 TRD Sport 4x4 DCSB
Not sure if this is the best place to post this, but here goes:

I may be in the market for a vehicle in the $10k range soon(ish).

I currently owe about $10k on my truck and it should bring upwards of $20k. So, basically I'll be trying to get enough out of my truck to pay it off and get into something else payment free.

I've just started looking around a bit and I think I can get into a decent 1st Gen for around that.

My wife has recently decided that she wants to quit her job in order to stay home with our son. I'm just trying to free up a little money in our soon-to-be tighter budget.

Here's a little about my current rig:

2008 TRD Sport 4x4 DCSB (SSM)

    Mileage: 92,xxx

    "Extras":

    - XD795 Hoss 18x9
    - 265/70R18 Toyo Open Country A/T
    - Bilstein 5100s all the way around (installed less than 500 miles ago)
    - Icon 3 leaf add-a-leaf (not yet installed-still in box)
    - Satoshi Grill (I've also got the 'Homer Taco' Mesh for the lower that I never installed)
    - LED "Halo" lights
    - Tinted Tails
    - De-badged
    - Weather Techs (front and back)
    - Truxedo lo-pro tonneau cover
    - Tacoma bed mat
    - extra d-rings in front of bed
    - K&N drop in
    - Tinted windows
    - Lower Valance Black (done the right way! Raw black bumper, masked and professionally painted SSM)
    - Weather Tech Vent Shades

Here is a quick pic to satisfy the forum rules, but I'll get more if there is any interest.

I'd be looking for a 1st gen in the $10k range. It would have to be at least an access cab, but preferably a double cab. I would consider a pre-runner, but would rather stay with 4x4. And I would love to have a 5 speed. My truck is very clean/well maintained, and I would only consider another in similar condition.

I'm not 100% sure that this is the way we're going to go, so I'm just kind of feeling things out. In the mean time, I would appreciate any feed back/advice! Thanks guys!

Too bad you're selling your truck, Matt. It is really a nice rig and would make anyone happy.

Installed an oem roof rack and trd exhaust this weekend. Exhaust sounds really good- not too loud, but has a nice, deep sound.

I was thinking about the same installs for my truck. I am very picky about exhaust notes, esp for 6cyl motors. Looks nice!

I'm supposed to pick up some new tire from Discount tire too. Extreme truck stuff wanted $315 a tire for Goodyear Duratracs and discount had them for $253. I just Wounder why the price difference of soo much.

Didn't know you guy go kayaking either. I do ALOT of kayaking around Jax.

Discount tire said that since it was Friday they were gonna throw in a $100 visa rebate card too. Didn't know if it was for the tires or something they just did if u went in there and bought some tires

I remember when buying the wheels and tires on my sons truck. I think that was part of the deal at the time. The rebate was a $100 visa card for a set of tires and another $100 card for a set of wheels. So the original bill was around a grand minus the $200 in rebates. Not bad getting a 20% refund.

Ok guys so been looking around trying to find a decent tire for a decent price and still upgrade to a bigger tire and not have any rubbing issues.

Well I took my first step to figuring out what i want.

First off i decided to stick with the stock rims. Its a money issue so for now unless i just run across a deal i cant refuse im going to stick with the stock steelies.

Was walking sround the beach blvd flea market and they got this tire store there selling new and used tires. (Great price and sevice) I was shocked.

So to start out i bought a set of tires and put them on the back they are Goodyear Wrangler Radials. I went with 235/75/15 there 2 inches taller than stock. Old tires were 26 inches new ones are 28's. And of course I want bigger. So im going to put these on the fronts drive around for a while and make sure I dont have any rubbing issues. If so (and I dont suspect to have any issues) Im going to keep them up front and see how big of a tire i can wedge on the back with no issues.

Does anyone know if a 31/10.50/15 will fit the rear. Also is that 2 wide of a tire for our stock steelies.

Ok i was able to upload some pics. heres whats going on so far. Pic one is stock tires that came on the truck when i bought it. Pic to is old fronts new backs. Pic 3 new tire on rear. I want to move it to the front check for rubbing issues. Then see what i can shoe horn under that rear fender with no issues.
