We decided to Plasti dip my brother in law tacoma monday. We did the entire grill to start with. Then after it was done it didn't match the center valance on bottom, and the plastic pieces around the fog lights so we sprayed them turned out great.

    Nice.

I've done my grille, rear bumper and all the badges in plasti-dip. I sprayed two coats of clear coat on after the plasti-dip dried, if you decide to do this make sure you get the matte clear not the gloss.

I think you can buy actual clear coat plasti-dip, but I just went to Home Depot and picked up a can.

According to http://www.dipyourcar.com/forums/forum.php it will help the dip stay on their longer, and will be less prone to rock chips, scratches etc....

I used a gloss clear coat over my plasti-dipped emblem and it turned out really good. Made it look like I painted it, except it is reversible now.

I've heard its a bit harder to take it off once you clear coated it. I think I read somewhere to take a heat guy or hair dryer to it if you decide to take it off.

if you clear coat it it'll flake off instead of peeling off...

That's if you use an aftermarket clear coat. It should come right off if you are using the Glossifer.

If you're using like Krylon clear coat it's going to come off in pieces. I am not sure if it would be easier if you heat it up.

I think that you used the Plasti Dip Glossifer?

There is a Glossy finish, I haven't seen a clear coat yet made by Plasti Dip.

Should hold up just fine. I've been rocking plastidip on my front bumper for nearly two years with it only needing minor touch ups from time to time. Amazing how resilient it is to rock chips.
