I am of the opinion if we call Toyota and 'Whine' for more options or standard quipment it will be provided later. If no one 'Whine' about it Toyota will not know we want better standard equipment and options.

I sent my list to the dealer. Not sure if they did anything with it. My 2004 Sporttrac has a power slider std.. Not sure why Tacoma does not other the price point. All the carp adds up. Do not understand need for heated seats. My butt warms mine just fine.

Well if you don't understand why anyone would want a Diesel, refer to your 2nd sentence. Another reason? Better fuel economy.

Not sure what diesel prices are where you live, but in So. Cal. diesel fuel is higher than super unleaded. I just bought my tacoma so I could save on fuel.
I parked my Chev. Silverado 2500 diesel because the fuel was killing me. Spending over a grand a month in diesel fuel. However, CNG is less than half the price of gasoline. $1.70 or less near me. Now that sounds more appealing. But hey, buy diesel. The Honey Badger don't give a S*!t.

I just traded in my 2nd one for this Tacoma - a 2010 Ram 2500 with the mighty Cummins. But that pig got me 14mpg combined and this is getting me almost 19 combined.

But a nice Diesel in the Tacoma would be knocking on the door of 28-30 mpg. That's one of the reasons people want the option.

Diesel fuel is $3.75 here. Gas is $3.40. And CNG is all over the place here and it's ridiculously cheap. But the engine and set-up is not. The 2013 Ram 2500 with Hemi CNG set-up is $10K or so.

I think your misunderstanding the diesel request

People who want the diesel option don't want a huge v8 diesel in our tacos, we want something like a 2.5L or the 3.0L turbo diesels like the overseas hilux gets.

It would be much more fuel efficient, while pumping out more torque for someone who needs it off road. Plus the reliability and durability of a diesel would be great.

The 3.0L turbo diesel Toyota puts in the hilux puts out 250 ft/lbs of torque, 170 Hp, and 28mpg average.

meh...you may even save some $$$ getting an ARB over the TRD O/R package.

Plus, w/ the ARB you need an air source. And having a compressor or compressed co2 on board is super handy if you ever need to air down/reinflate your tires, or run air tools.

Hmm, didn't know that. The only reason I have a diesel is for towing and it used to be cheap fuel. Thx

Bigger gear. More power. More gears in automatic. Power sliding rear window. Better rear springs. BLOWER MOTORS THAT WORK. Temp gauge. homertaco grills standard. Just an all around update. Keep up with the competition cause tacos just seem behind the times.

The mpg thing is definitely in need of improvement. Although I can say I used to get 20.5 with the factory tires, I now only get 16.5 with these 31's:mad:

Heck we need a 3rd gen already, but I really hope that it won't be a fugly screwed up lookin thing like the new colorado. Sadly thats where whats left of the midsize market is going, so its possible Toyota will do the same.

Yes there are definitely up sides to the ARB over the e locker, do you know how big the compressor is though? I would get the smallest one they offer I don't think I would use it to inflate tires or run tools. But then again might as well if I'm going through the effort of installing an onboard compressor lol

I am not sure what size compressor ARB sells. But even with a relatively small compressor you should be able to inflate tires no problem.

CO2 might be cheaper, because its just a tank/regulator. And will have enough power to run tools if you ever need to.
