I've been buggin myself to do this for a while now. Just got around to it. I dont like the idea of not having my glock within reach while driving around, especially around some of the slummer areas of my town. For a while now, i have had my glock just sliding around in the center consol, gettin tangled with my headphones and insurance papers and what not, so I decided that i want a quick access mount. Just picked up a Glock-Locking holster, made for out of waistband carry. This holster is perfect because it wont bounce out when going over rough terrain.

First removed the small change bucket built onto the truck. I chose this as a mount because its within grabbing distance, and its removable, so it was easy to work on and if I were to have screwed it up, I could just replace the bit of plastic.

Next I drilled 3 holes for the holster. I also removed the holster from its carry handle, so I had 3 tapped holes to screw into. (Thats what she said)

Mounted the Holster directly through the top 2 holes, and put a screw in the bottom hole to keep it from rubbing on the plastic.

Here you go. One glock holster. Mine is the Glock 23

Although I think its awesome to have a holster here, there are a few concerns that I have already come across. The rear end of the grip is mighty close to the ignition, which makes it awkward to turn on the truck sometimes. Plus I have a lanyard so it kinda gets in the way. It is also a kinda awkward reach. You have to go under the steering wheel and then go up to get at it. Its still easier than the glove box or center console, but its a bit odd. Other than that, I think its cool

Not to mention that it is invisible from the driver side window. But the passenger is a bit different. You can barely see it with my 20% window tint.

Nice job. I am thinking about getting a console vault for this exact purpose. I wouldn't want to leave a pistol where someone could break in and get it, or you would be liable. Plan to lock it up when not driving?

Nice write up. I have the same holster for my beretta. On the manual tacomas this is where the e-brake is.

Nice! The only issue I have with that is drilling holes like that so I bought this holster off of www.gumcreekcustoms.com. I have seen the holster/mount on Facebook and went to searching for it to finally come across it a few days later. I love how sturdy it is along with the location.

My everyday carry gun is a Ruger LC-9, it fits inside that little cubby and the belt clip is on the bottom holding it in there with the same orientation. Works great while in the truck and comes with me when I get out.

Yes, very much so. I usually throw it back in the console when I leave it in my truck to go to work and such. I don't want people staring down my valuables, or getting any ideas. I saw a thread about a lock for the center console, so I might do that.

Yeh me too. I found the console vault thing for tacomas on Amazon for $291.95.

    Seriously thinking about it..

Ditto, I've got the LC9 w/ LaserMax which is my daily CCW. No fancy mounts for me. Just keep it in the cubby beneath the temp control for easy reach.
