What areas of the sock are Kevlar? Personally, I couldn't imagine wearing a sock that doesn't breathe. Do you wear a neck guard, cage and mouthguard too ? If you don't, you probably deserve to have your jugular cut and your eyes gauged out.

First off Kevlar for "cut" protection breaths great. I wore it for thousands of hours in a very hot industrial environment. Most guys put a 1/4" of tape on their ankles already and tape don't breath last I checked.

Anyone who isn't protecting their ankles in a hockey game full of razor sharp skates is a retard.

Most people don't skate upside down so skates to the face are rare.

 

I suspect most guys who get stepped on are laying down on the ice when it happens .In case you didn't notice, guys fall down on occasion. When you are laying down, the entire length of your body is equally vulnerable. Matt Cooke is the only guy who manages to stomp guys while they are standing, as far as I can remember.

Shit these days people wear kevlar socks just because kevlar doesn't get holes in it. They even have dress kevlar socks for business men.

Kevlar is old news as well. Plenty of other more protective forms of gear out now. D-flex is one that blows away kevlar in regards to cut resistance, breathing, and the ability to be washed without losing protective qualities.

This is news to me. This is why I asked you about the Kevlar socks. I have never seen them but would imagine they are a a stiff material based on the Kevlar weaves I have actually seen.

 

I used to wear these every day. You could take the sharpest knife to it and nothing. You could stab right though it though. Only for cuts like a skate would do. I put a apple in one and tried my serrated knife and it barely did any damage. My flat blade knife did nothing. Hard to show thickness of the material. The socks I have seen are thinner.

Kids actually have to wear neck guards here. It is mandatory, and I am all for it. They deserve to be cut if they don't
