I tracked down the exact truck I wanted through a dealership who mentioned the truck was just coming into port and he would get it delivered to his dealership. I am really excited to go get it today and get there and find out it has 250 miles on it. Apparently it was moved on a car hauler to a dealership 250 miles away yesterday and someone drove it up today to do a dealer swap.

This is going to be my first brand new car and something about someone else doing the first 250 miles really put a damper on it for me. I backed out of the deal on the spot saying I need to think about it. What are your guys thoughts here? Would you have done the same. I am looking for a very specific truck and called all around and nobody else has it. Chances are if I bail on this one it may take a little while to get what I am looking for but I almost think it would be worth it. I was so excited today to go up there and see 5 miles on the clock.....

Just wait. These trucks aren't going anywhere. You know what you want. Wait for it

If your patient, then wait and find what you want. It would probably bug me too at first, but after another 250 I'd probably get over it.

I'd take the truck, they should have told you they were driving it from another dealer though.

I've purchased many new cars and Non had more then give miles on it. The last two had 2. I would not accept a new car with that many miles on it.

Nope, they didn't, and I specifically told them I wouldn't take a car with over 20 miles and they still seemed surprised when I turned it down. Dont get it. I would have paid for the flatbed or driven down themselves. How could they think someone would be ok with that?

Yah...I am really having a tough time. I really wanted to take that truck today. I mapped the distance between the two dealers. 231 miles exactly and the truck has 243. Was delivered into port on Monday so it is pretty fresh except that one drive up the highway.

Dealers do trade vehicles and drive them. That's how I got my truck. It still had the previous dealers advertisement plate on it. It had a little over a 100 miles on it but I wasn't worried about it. I have 43k miles now. If the truck is exactly what you want then buy it. It's better to have a truck that you really want than to get a different truck that your just ok with over a couple hundred miles. 200 miles isn't gonna hurt a Toyota truck.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
I'd buy it. Maybe see if they'd knock off a couple hundred bucks but I wouldn't worry about it.

If it's what you want, go for it.

The vehicle is new and has a warranty.

I've had vehicles transported to me from farther away then that.

Pretty common, I've purchased 2 vehicles driven from dealer to dealer with no issues.

But my dealers were upfront about it, really dumb this dealer didn't.

Two months ago I bought a 2013 that had 99 miles on it. I knew what I wanted and the dealer had to trade to get it. I knew up front though and wasnt worried at all.

Your warranty is 36k miles from the day you take ownership so this vehicle would be 36,250. That was made very clear for when I got mine.

Truck went first, second, third, fouth, Over drive...............bunch of highway.....then fourth, third, second, first, some brake pad use and turned off. If you were the one transporting it would you purposely try to ruin it? I have only worried about things I know I myself would have done. If you were the driver would you want to be the one responsible for the new owner not buying the truck? I wouldnt want to be. I would have drove it like normal, dropped it off and went on with my day. I wouldnt worry one bit about it. After all its the one you want and have been searching for. I spent 17,000 on a truck that squeaks and I hate squeaking but it was my favorite color, low miles and long bed. Get the truck and go off road for 10 secs you will do more damage then the 241 miles someone else drove it

I bought my truck with 4 miles on the odometer the day it came off the truck so I fully understand what you are looking for. I was the first and only person to drive my truck so it has truly felt like it was mine and only mine. But do what you wish. These trucks will last hundreds of thousands of miles. Good luck with the purchase.

really ? Who cares. It's the truck you asked for driven by a dealership employee to the dealer for you.

It's a daily driver pickup truck, not a Porsche.

Hey I bet the dealer wouldn't give a shit if you were 200 miles over your warranty when something major broke, nope charge you they would!! Get money knocked off the price a significant amount or walk screw them.

My 2012 was the only off road package set up with out the entune radio, and had running boards and mag grey in the area. Got the dealer trade to 3 different dealers. Before being traded to my dealer, had 265 miles on it when I drove on a test drive. Haven't had a problem yet, and live the truck more then day one so far!

Your truck your money. My opinion... yes i would feel weird at first, BUT its less than a full tank of gas.

If its the truck of your dreams... would you pass it up because someone else ran a tank of gas through it and you' re going to put hundreds more in it?

My truck was a dealer transfer too. I bought it with 3xx on it, I don't remember exactly. I didn't really care then, 27k+ miles later I still don't.
