Just a few little things. It's my DD
When I first saw this post I kinda thought aw this guy is being way to picky. Then I thought about when I bought my truck and when I saw it only had 1 mile, SOLD. I probably would not had been so quick to buy it if it had 250 miles in it. I'm sure the truck is fine and it is new but when a man shells out $20k+ for a new truck I can understand why you would want a "new" truck.

I dont think many people know that engine and transmission is run at engine factory before leaves the place.
Toyota has some pretty neat machines to do this too. They had Toyota factory on Discovery or NatGeo. Toyota runs engines for some period of time to make sure they are operating correctly and to flush as much material left from assembly. So 1 mile truck has engine that probably put equivalent of 30 miles on highway.

This...also the reason you should change your oil for the first time at 500-1,000 miles IMO...

Tighter tolerances mean more possible wear from small particulates...

Its obviously up to you to decide what you want to do. I personally wouldnt care unless there were rock chips from the drive they did. I bought my 2011 with just over 300km's on it and couldnt be bothered but thats just my opinion.

I bought mine with about 120 on the clock. It bothered me at first but I got over it in about a day. I figure a hundred miles isnt much when I plan to keep the truck to 500k. If its what you want, I would say go for it.

Gotcha, they have checked in on the incoming trucks and looks like there should be one coming in the color I am looking for but it would be later in april. Seems pretty far out. Called around yesterday and nobody else had one or had one coming in anytime soon in our region...making me rethink a little bit. I am not sure it a big enough issue to wait a month to get the truck.

I would go ahead an get this one. Take another test drive to make sure you don't see/feel any issues. In a month you'll have forgotten all about the miles they put on it. Ask them to throw a sun visor or something.

^ This. A lot of dealers use retired guys to run the trades for them. I have a 65 year old uncle that does this locally for a Ford dealer and I guarantee the cars/trucks he drives don't see 65 mph. 250 miles is no big deal...I would pull the trigger but work them for a bigger discount.

In my earlier comment I should have added this:

I have bought two new trucks in my life, one that was ordered for me and had .6 miles on it, and the aforementioned Tacoma that had 99 miles on it. Guess which one had a lifetime of problems and I ended up selling it by 22k miles. The were not both the same truck, I am just saying that having 250 miles on it isnt a sign of good or bad. Also, as mentioned, most are driven by retired guys, or guys who really want to keep their job. You already checked the mileage and confirmed that it wasnt a joy ride. Straight point to point. Just make sure they dont charge you for the delivery of the vehicle. They tried to do that to me and I told them it wasnt my fault they didnt have the truck I wanted in stock.

It is a bulletproof truck, not a new Z06 Corvette. Your money and your call but I wouldn't sweat it.

When I bought my xrunner in 2005, it had 300 miles on it and was parked in the middle of a mall food court. My 2012 had 7 on it when it showed up at the dealer...can't win em all!

I wont be picky but I would bend the dealer arm to knock off at least 2000 off the price.

Seems everyone is 50/50 on this. I am wondering how good a deal you are getting. That is what would sway my decisions if I were in your shoes, money talks. If I was only getting an OK deal, I would probably walk.

Assuming the deal was good enough for me to be comfortable with making a deal AND the dealer went and found what I was looking for I would still be happy. However, I would ask them to throw in a bed mat to make good on the unexpected miles but still buy the truck. Another route is you can go all government on them and have them compensate you at $0.585/mile ($146.25) off the final price.

Buy the truck. I waited 8 weeks for mine as a special order and it was a SHITTY wait. Truck showed up with 11 miles on the odometer instead of the one which I was expecting. You know what? I didn't care because I still had exactly what I wanted.

Someone had to drive it on the truck so either way you will never find that and truely hasn't been driven by someone else. I bought mine with 319miles on since was in texas..and came to baton rouge..then they drove it here to swap it. Didn't bother me.

Hahaha. You've clearly never seen a longshoreman offload cars from the container ships hey? The first couple miles on an imported vehicle are the hardest they'll ever be driven.

Agreed. Some people seem to forget the dealer is working to make money. They did the swap to get the OP the truck he wanted. Now to demand an extra 2k off that because the truck had to be brought down to the dealership. Just seems crazy.

It's up to you. It's your money. It's your truck. When I bought my 2012, they asked me if it would be alright if there were some miles on it when it came in. they explained how they do the switch with other dealers. They said some people get really upset because of miles and they would have it brought in on a flatbed if I really wanted(That would add to the destination charge). They assured me that the truck would be adult driven during the switch. Think of it do you really think they would let some idiot drive it 250 miles? I don't think so. If that idiot smashed it or blew it up it would be a real loss. Mine had 50 miles on the clock and I wasn't worried. It was my first new vehicle and I still consider it new because I am the first owner. If it is really the truck you want don't be so hasty to turn it down because of 250 miles. When you think of it you might be driving it until it hits 300,000 miles whats 250 miles?
