Been a while since I posted, but I finally got the money I needed to purchase a Tacoma in the year/mileage/condition that I want. I've found two that I'm considering at the moment.

Let me know which one is the better choice (if such a choice exists).

2006 DC 4x4 auto w/89k miles for around $19,000 (in the color I want)

Or one closer to my location...

2007 DC 4x4 auto w/70k miles for around $19,000 (in a color I can stand)

    Thoughts? Comments? Concerns?

Also, can anyone tell me if the first one is lifted? Thanks!

I would buy the speed way blue just because I really like the color.

I know. Its awesome. But the other one is much closer to where I live, its newer, and has almost 20k fewer miles. Its also being sold by an individual (which I prefer).

One question I had was regarding the motor mounts. Are the pre-2007 2nd gen motor mount issues significant enough to avoid them altogether, or is it just one of those things you assume a little risk on and go down the road?

Go with the first one, if you cant stand the color of the 2nd choice why drive something you don't like? Tell the dealer you have $17,000 they will usually negotiate. If not, maybe you should keep looking and get exactly what you want.

I'm gonna say assume a little risk on and go down the road because my truck is an 05 and I bought it since 08 with 14k miles on the odo. Took it in the the dealership and they say all my motor mounts are good and I currently have 60,568 miles. Also I have never taken my truck off roading so I'm not sure how that will affect the motor mounts.

No. I CAN stand it. Its just the silver, also with black rims similar to the first one, but not nearly as sharp looking.

The deciding factor might be that the speedway blue one is around 600 miles away while the silver one is about 200 miles away. Hmm.....

Besides, I'm not 100% sold on speedway blue. Its more of a lustful desire, really. Kinda like that hot girl that you could hookup with, but you wouldn't want to marry her. That's kinda how I feel about speedway blue. The silver might be a better choice for a marriage-type relationship.

And front grill looks like a 2011 grill you could kinda see the honeycomb.

How can you tell? Just because it doesn't say "TRD Sport"?

Have you seen a SWB up close and personal? Reason for asking is because, IMHO, it's a much lighter blue than depicted in that picture...not a fan, personally. It looks to be well modded, I believe it has BHLM already done, the emblem is painted, and as stated earlier, that hood is not stock...actually the sticker on the bed don't look correct either though. I could be wrong, they just look....different than the typical OFF ROAD stickers.

edit: the stickers do not look typical to me, but the vehicle on their website shows the rear diff lock button.

I've seen the speedway blue up close. I like it.

Either way, the first one might be a good deal or it could be a headache. Maybe I'll go with the closer, newer one and mod it myself :)

2nd one, even tho i didn't see a pic less miles and closer!

I have a sport no scoop, came with chrome grill and bumper - I checked to make sure it wasn't made in china (it was mexico) but the VIN pulls it up as a sport. either way I am not a fan of blue and for the same money I personally would go with lower miles and closer to home.

I'd go with the 07 with less miles. If for no other reason than resale value. KBB it and then talk the dealership down $1-2 k. In 2017 it'll still be worth $10k.

get the vin number and do carfax or autocheck. I would do both trucks, not always a tell all but on this priced vehicle an accident would show up.
