808tacomas, What is the black box you all refer too and what are the benifits of removing it? I'm a noobie, any help is appreciated.

Hey y'all check my page for a new look. I have the fat bob lift and a bunch of other fun stuff! The black box 'mod' is referring to a stupid box that serves no purpose. It's located on the front driver and passenger side wheel well. When you remove it (unscrew it and cut some plastic) you can fit 32s on it like mine :)

My only mods so far, functionally, are 235/70-15 cooper discoverer HT's and 15x7 MB TKO's and am very pleased with what the Taco can do off pavement with the ALSD. I did the bed cover and had the windows tinted but that's it so far...still contemplating lift. I hear alot of warnings about pushing to 2.75 being too much of a stretch on control arms and causing bearings, ball-joints and outer tire problems. Any opinions...or experience??

I heard the lift kits will make a non smooth ride. They say its better to just run the 235/75

here’s my 2011 DC 5 lug. purchased in 2013 with 34k miles, currently at 87k. did nothing to it the first 3 years of ownership but in the last 3 years i have:

    debadged
    color-matched the chrome grill surround
    removed the fender flares
    added an Undercover Flex tonneau
    bilstein 4600s all around
third member swap with 4.30 gears

so what’s next? i believe new sway bar bushings and end links. after that, maybe a rear sway bar.

yes, stock wheels and tires. acceleration went from abysmal to tolerable. i cruise at 65mph turning around 2400 rpm. enough grunt to use cruise control on rolling hills without it dropping into 3rd gear for every incline. i lost maybe 0.5 mpg.

2009 Tacoma. Got it stock, had step rails removed them, painted my rims black. Got new tires. These are the second set: Falcon wildpeaks 30x9.50/R15.
Installed Aeroskin bugshield, also put on window visors. Super nice. Definitely have to put them on when it's hot out though!
Took forever but got a 50 inch light bar, made my own brackets and installed the light bar along with 2 pod lights in the bumper. Clean! :)
Last year I had a local truck company in my town install the Readylift 2.75" lift kit. I love it! I'm not driving a car :) it feels more like a truck and can handle a lot more. Especially in the snow! I'm working on getting some black Retrofit Projector led headlights. My next step though is rims! And I'm not quite sure what would fit. I want my tires to stick out from the truck. There are several other things I will do down the road. Love the truck though!

2014 4 door 2.7 with 265/70 r17 tires and wheels from a jeep and i love the ride, but it does downshift alot more and at 47 it is actually runs 55, is there a waythumbnail.jpg to get speedo right? And you can see the jeep emblems, had to use 5x4.5 to 5x5 1 inch spacers.
