Oh trust me I thought of that, but all personal items have to be cleared out prior to shipping. Goes through an inspection

A small handful of select mods.
Your fairlead bent or is that an optical effect? Also with the thimbles and syn line I was told not to over tighten the drum. Just barely snug to the roller. It will stretch your line out otherwise.

yea i'm pleased with it....it'll be much easier pulling that rope versus old cable...saved a bunch of weight too

gained some back with the slightly heavier winch, but can't wait to see the pull speed difference

thank you jace for getting my truck in line today...bad news, i will need new lcas soon...

    but onto the good stuff!

    305/70/17 MT/Rs!

delivered to jace's shop...next to his 285/75/16 Duratracs
    [IMG]

    getting there!

    285/70/17 meet 305/70/17
    [IMG]

jace even got a chance to check out how they stuff...not bad!

    rear stuffage
    [IMG]

full lock, no spacers...looks to be enough room with regards to the ucas
    [IMG]

so far no rubbing issues, and it looks like my prior clearancing is close to adequate for this size...i'll need to do a bit of trimming on the flare, but it looks like i won't have to section it like 35s require..

    :yay:

got to test them out in the snow right away too...we had 8" fall out by me over night, so roads were sloppy as fuuuuuck

and so far the battle sides with duratracs..

    MT/R versus Duratrac

    snow:

    MT/R < Duratracs

this is based on overall traction and handling. i noticed that turning was more crisp in the snow with the duratracs and grip was slightly better. MT/Rs have a slick feeling to them, but that's coming directly from the Duratracs to the MT/Rs in the same conditions.

the MT/Rs have no problem throwing the snow that's for sure! but as i expected, the Duratracs (that are known for their high winter rating) have the edge in the snow.

i am not saying the MT/Rs are bad in the snow..not close to that, they still kick ass in the snow, but when driving in the same conditions in the morning then driving the same roads in the MT/Rs later in the morning, this is where i get my conclusion from.

Looks great. How does the road noise compare to the Duratracs? I wanna say my MTRs are only a tad louder, but I didn't go direct from one to the other.

How close to the frame does it get?

no idea haha...snowed a bunch over night so i been on snow all day still...

but from the patches of dry road i was on, i did notice a louder road noise..but honestly, it's still not bad. i was amazed at how huge the outer lugs are though

when the snow melts i'll be looking more into clearance, but so far i have no rubbing on the frame..but that's on flat land too

so the real test will be when things are flexing out and it will be a big until i get a good day to test it out..
