    Mine doesn't hesitate to shift down and the only time it deems it unsafe to down shift is if it is going to redline the motor. Let's see what happens when you try to downshift into 2nd at 75mph, same idea basically. The 5spd shifts pretty fast too. If you do the IPT valve upgrade it shifts so fast you almost can't even tell there was a break between the gears.

    Does suck you can't rock but that isn't good on your clutch or tranny anyway and that is why you just pack a shovel and other recovery gear.

    So don't get stuck in the first place:rofl: Just give'er hell the first time and you'll be fine.
    The rev limiter? Not a good place to spend a lot of time at. Although I spend more time there than I should. haha If you ain't bouncing off the rev limiter offroad you ain't trying hard enough:D

    Very well said. When I'm off road I put the rev limit to work!!! I don't hit it when I drive on street but when I'm off road.....

    Meanwhile, as no transmissions break, 426,000 flat tires, 3298 cracked xfer cases, and 3 million spilt coffee accidents later......... oh wait, how many turns does my 4x4 dial last?

    The only straight cut gears in most manuals are the reverse gears. The rest are helical.
