I loved my memphis sub...ill be replacing my alpine type s with a memphis soon...by far one of the best subs out there...im not a huge jl audio fan either..yes they sound good but they are not the best..I would put a set of jbl performance series components against them any day..and I know for a fact the memphis c3 12 hits harder than the 13w7

^^^^^Listen to this man. Runnin' the stealthbox and it is terrific. appears to be just what you are looking for: (2)10"'s, terrific sound quality, great reviews, and fits behind the backseat of a doublecab allowing complete use of the rear-seating area. no one will know it's there (thus less likely to be stolen), until you turn it up :)

See that's another thing. I am getting a box made by somebody most likely and the stealth box is two on one side this having wayyy less air space than a custom box with one on each side.

Do you mean you want to take up both storage areas behind the seats with two different boxes?

Yes and no. It is going to take up both sides but it is only going to be one box with two chambers.

Ok. just fyi, i placed my JL amp in the second storage area. also, custom boxes can sound great but are generally made of wood, whereas the stealthbox is made of fiberglass which is purported to be a better material for subwoofer enclosures. either way, good luck and post up pics when your done :)

Will do but it will be awhile. And the amp I am getting will fit under the back seat in that little storage area.

Let the record stand...there is no BEST sub. Nor is there a BEST brand. If you state there is a best you are inherently wrong by definition.

It's like saying that Barcelona Red is the BEST Tacoma color....fuck you, Speedway Blue is the best! :D

    To Sofiasdad11,

If money had not been an issue, I too would have definitely gone with the JL Stealthbox just because of the look and ease of installation (not having to remove my storage compartments). Just couldn't make myself fork out the roughly 750 bucks or so for it. That being said, I'm very happy and satisfied with the price I paid and with the sound quality that I've achieved. I listen to everything from the 70s - 2013 (rock, rap, hip-hop, country, metal, etc...) and it all sounds fantastic with my new setup.

I am jealous of your box though...

No, it's not a port. This is a sealed box with .77 cubic feet per side which falls right into the specs for those subs.

There is NO WAY you're gonna get within the spec range of any subs to be able to ue a ported box IMO. Subs require much more volume of air to be used in a ported box.

I'm sure there are better, more expensive setups that you could choose but I have a single Pioneer 10" shallow mount in a home-built box powered by a Kicker DX250.1 mono subwoofer amp:

    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/audio-video/31474-i-built-sub-box-my-06-dc-check.html

For the total of $350 I spent on the whole setup, it produces more clean bass than I'll ever need. Too much, really. I have the gain turned up less than half way and there is zero noticeable distortion at max volume for ipod input.

I hear ya. As I mentioned before, money does matter and I only have 415 dollars tied up with the box, amp, subs, and amp wiring kit.
Of course, I did spend more than just 415 dollars to get the sound I have now, but it's because I first spent money on the receiver, front speakers and rear door speakers. I spent more than I wanted on the door speakers, but I was going for QUALITY sound and I've got it now. Total up the costs on the crutchfield links I provided before and that is my total cost. For the money, haven't heard anything else like what I've got. Just sayin'...:)

You can get two of these tens in a ported box. http://www.memphiscaraudio.com/products/subwoofers/memphis-reference-subwoofers/
