    Right now I'm burning some Madrone I've had for 4-6 years as well as some Fir from a blow down that was 200 years old and growing on pretty much solid rock

    My motto is " never say no to free firewood " haha

    I also luck out , as a carpenter I always end up with kiln dried framing and finishing scraps , I use that at the beginning and end of the burning season

    I also have a pretty much endless supply of cedar kindling from soffits and siding etc

    Yeah, well I'm always looking for good deals. Here in SoCal is hard to find good free firewood. A lot of people think they are giving away a great deal but it's just garbage. Not to mention the ones that sell it. They all sell "fresh" firewood. Lol... idiots
