yea all the "Champions" crap is coming off very soon. I just have to wait for the real license plates to come in to replace the rear paper plate. the truck will also be getting completely debadged besides the new all black Sockmonkey TRD All Terrain bedside decals I have.

Wow, I had decided against the pyrite but... yours looks very nice. Might have to rethink that.

Gotta ask - what'd you pay?

Stickered for almost $32k. Walked away with it for around $28k (after TT&L). Cant do a great deal of wheeling and dealing with a truck you have to order from the factory. Its even harder to walk away from it when taking delivery of it after a 12 week waiting period lol.

Whoa. JEEEZ I must suck at buying cars.

28k AFTER tax and license? Man, theyre offering me 28k before. I have what you got there, but with the jbl sound stuff.

Sorry for the $$ derail. That really is a sharp looking color. My wife picked that out for me initially and I blew her off... might owe her an apology...

Hate to burst your bubble but my local dealer has one just like this on their lot. www.jimbarkleytoyota.com

Either way, you see very few of these and they are NICE as hell. Can't wait to see the mods. :D

thanks, but i looked through there and only saw a double cab in the base model. i have seen several pyrite double cabs, even fewer with the sport model, but mine is only the 2nd one i've seen exactly like it....being a 4x4 Sport is what seems to make it so rare

*edit -nevermind i found it on there. damn, i guess the sales reps were full of s**t. oh well, its still a rare one.

Question i have to ask. You have a short bed with an automatic tranny???
I thought that an auto tranny was only available in a long bed.
Could this be another US/Canada diffrence in trucks. When i bought my Tacoma i was told an auto tranny was only in long bed.

Yeah, we seem to have significantly less options here in Canada.

My personal dissapointment was no Manual Transmission in a Long Bed, but I don't think you can get that anywhere anyways.

For 2009 in Canada, I think there is no Shortbed Auto, no OffRoad, no Prerunner Doublecabs (I didn't think I wanted 4x4 when I started looking at the trucks).

Also, this thread seems eerily familiar... :)

Nice color.. pays to have a long wait and get exactly what you want instead of grabbing whatever the dealer has on the lot. I did the same thing as you and ordered mine when the first 05's first were available. I think I waited about the same amount of time as you.

Beautiful truck and great pics. I really like the one with the 4x4 reflection perfectly reflected vertically in the fender. That is a classic for sure!!
I was gonna say the same thing. They still owe you a Toyota OEM hitch cover. Make sure you also have the net for the center console and the tie down cleats for the back. Mine was missing the hitch cover and the net. But they made good on it for me.

i guess so. short bed double cabs with auto trannys are quite common in the states.

thanks, i didnt really even plan for the reflection to show up that way, just kinda happened lol.

i will ask them about the OEM hitch cover, I ordered the truck with the aluminum skid plate and bed mat as well so I will get it from them when those arrive.

You know what I don't understand? If I go onto the Toyo Tacoma web site to "build my own" Taco (zip code 28226), I cannot select ANY TRD option with the 4 door model...or any other best I can tell. What gives? Is this any Southeast Toyota distributor hate the customer thing?

Great looking truck. It was worth the wait! Can't wait to see it after it is debadged and the Sock decals put on.
