No rear disc brakes no excuse for that, that's old technology.

Rear drums help the parking brake while towing, provides much more surface area for the pads to bite vs rotors....

Plasti-Dipped Emblems, Tonnopro Tri-fold toneau cover (for winter use only), AVS in-channel visors, Ultra Gauge, Tepui Kukenam RTT, Muteki Trail Hog 285/70/17, Pop N' Lock, Bilstein 5100's in the front set at .85 with Eibach coils, Bilstein 5100's in the rear with a Toytec AAL. Toytec drivers side spacers, Toytec diff drop kit. All Pro u-bolt flip kit, TJM Compressor (permanently mounted), Custom rack for the RTT over the bed, Tepui Kukenam RTT, Toyota Bed Mat, Cobra 75 WX ST CB Radio, and a lot of gear behind the seats.
After 3,000 km in 2 months I can only recommend the following:

    • There is nothing wrong with an electronic differential but I would just prefer a manual differential.
    • DCLB with a Manual
    • Toyota offer the TRD OR DCSB in Canada!!!!!!

Oh a bed lock and bed light would be nice but they are cheap and fun to install.

    Cheers,

My only complaint is the tilt steering wheel. I had to learn how to get out of the truck w/o banging my leg into the steering wheel. It needs to rise higher. GM, Doge and Ford do it why not Toyota?

Previous owner used to haul heavy loads, so he put an AAL on it and TRD front suspension with a lift and custom rear suspension for added weight capacity. I recently installed a tow package (Curt with lifetime warranty) So i will definitely see what this thing can handle as far as weight goes.
I don't like the feel of my clutch.. Grabs with only about 2 inches of travel left. hydraulic clutches are non adjustable and dealer said to just deal with it.

I see. I get it now. I just wish diy replacement pads for them would be simpler/faster to install.

The front end makes it, in my opinion hardly a truck. though i'm sure it's badass, the front end is very off putting.

There were issues with early models, hopefully they have been addressed
by now... but I do have an extended warranty, and probably will have
moved on to something else by the time it expires :D

    Good plan.

Don't get me wrong - I like the new Jetta, but it was the HPFP and other electrical gremlins that scared me off buying one. I like to run my cars for 10 to 12 years, and didn't want to play Russian Roulette on that one.

My number one has to be no cargo light. I know you can add one but it should be std.. All other trucks have one. Also the one on the roof shines down lighting the whole bed and is not obstructed. Tailgate lock too but I forget to keep them locked.

Poor gas mileage, especially in city driving when auto trans rarely shifts into 4th.

Poor gas mileage even with the 4 cyl 2.7 (4 sp auto) when one considers the compromise in performance versus real gains in mpg as compared to the 6 cyl with the 5 sp auto.

    Jittery ride.

No bucket seat option for the RC with manual trans.
