i can agree to the 55 watt being to bright, and to much glare, but i am thinking of more of a back road/ offroad light.

i had 35 watt 5000k before on my 2011 taco, but they looked too blue for my liking, so i am thinking of going 4500k 55 watt this time

I run 3000k in my fogs so they're still a usable fog light

ok been running the 5000k 55 watt hid for about a week now. not one person has flashed their lights at me. i must have them adjusted low enough. but damn.. they are bright, and no blue tint to them like the 35 watt kit. higher power washes out the blue tint

Actually, the factory fog lamps are 35w.
Oz posted that question a few months ago. Everyone always assumed that they were standard 55w lamps but they aren't.

i have been keeping an eye on them periodicity making sure there isnt any dis formation of the reflector, or lens from heat damage. so far, so good.

Why would you do a projector retro on the fogs? And to the OP... 5K HID has no hint of blue. If it does you have a very low end China made bulb.

Just don't run a 55w fog on the street. Its not just illegal, its a selfish dick move.

Im running 35 watt 5K and they have a hint of blue and bought from a good company, DDM Tuning, wouldnt consider them low end, of course i like a light blue, it seperates my truck from other toyotas

but as far as the OPs questions i dont know many people running 55 watt, my buddy is running 35 watt 5k in a new body avalanche and it melted the back of the fog light housing but i dont think the body shop put them in right for his, i put mine in myself (im curious about my truck)

DDM is a China made mid level product. If you have 5k with blue its not 5k and it is blue because they cheaped out on the salts.

Or they may have shipped the wrong burners.

The last installation that I did, I ordered 5000k and they shipped 8000k.
They did the same when I ordered a kit for my motorcycle... ordered 5000k and they shipped 6000k.
