Is (Boise) Idaho part of the Pacific Northwest?

Idaho and Washington, now merged due to state budget issues each.

I've said it before and I'll say it again (only this time with a picture for the less literate): Idaho is in the PNW because it pees into the Pacific. This is also why NV wouldn't be considered PSW because the rain that falls there--stays there rather than go to the ocean. Yes, parts of OR and CA are also in the Great Basin, but the majority of those states drain into the ocean.



And just because BC is NW of Oklabama doesn't make it part of the PNW.

I'm 1/2 a mile from the Columbia, but haven't been to the ocean in almost 2 years. i'll get my kayaks there this year.

Not an ocean port. It's simply a port with access to the ocean... just as there are ports all over the Midwest with access to the Gulf and Atlantic.

Yup. PNW refers to a region of the US. Unless of course you also think that the Yukon is in the Midwest (no Pacific oceanfront). Just because you wished you lived in the states doesn't make it so.
