That's why after my graveyard shift I always sleep before I drive home. One time I drove home sleepy. I started dozing off and saw cows in the middle of the pacific. Next thing you know I wake up to find myself headed towards a guard rail. After that. Never again. When in doubt. Pull over and sleep.

What about Ambien? Or pot? Or meth? Or pain meds? Or a muscle relaxer? That all happens during the day time...and so do drunks! I've been on when 2 agencies got a DUI a piece at 4pm.

I HATE people who text and drive. If my phone goes off I look at it..only because I have a terminally ill parent and I am the "on call" during the day since I work close to his house. If I have to read it and am not at a red light I pull off the road.

Recently the town next to me did a 4 hour "sting" on people doing this and wrote close to 100 tickets.

In BC it's illegal to use a cel phone or any " hand held electronic device " while driving

I didn't bring up high/DUI driving to start an argument by any means...just a conversation starter!

Both are illegal in my state, but we have to visually observe the person texting before we can ticket them.

Same as in Manitoba. It's a stupid law. Now you have people texting with their phone in between there legs instead of up by the window.

not only is texting while driving poor judgement and lack of respect toward other drivers...

many who use cell phones while driving also should lose their driving privileges...and yes this includes hands free.

and I won't buy the argument that it's no different than the radio, because it is. you are personally connected to a cell conversation.

similarly, drivers having heavy or confrontational conversation with passengers...can be distracted enough to become a hazard on the road.

nope.....I pull over if I need to send out a text. Not worth it and it pisses me off seeing other people on the road texting.

Relentless front aluminum bumper. Le Devil Horns (_)

A cop may be distracted but they've certainly had more training in regards to driving compared to the average person as well.

What really irks me is when you see a mom with kids in the car texting and driving. They seem ignorant to the fact that they have other lives, literally, in their hands.

If a car in a lane going in the opposite direction loses control at 45 and up miles per hour for what ever reason greatly reduces reaction time in any situation, and more so when you look up from your phone and see a car coming at you over 45 mph, well, so help the person who was texting and driving.

I don't know why, but a billion scenarios run through my head on a daily basis when I see things that are more likely to cause an accident but thankfully don't.

For example, when I drive with my 8 year old nephew in the rear seat I always make him sit in the middle because if someone were to T-bone me at an intersection and he was on that side I think he'd have at least a better chance sitting in the middle.

Does your mind work like that? Just curious...

didn't mean to go off topic there

Did I ever say it was no different? I said it was distracted driving...trying listening to your absolute favorite song loud with the bass bumping and you're all into it...like a lot of people out there, its distracting you; not like a text message but its distracting, especially when these fucks start to close there eyes and sing.

I don't think like this because I don't have anyone ride with me, but scenarios always run through my mind so I partially think you like lol if that makes sense.

Larry didn't quote you , so you're assuming he was directing that comment at you which may or may not be the case

Lol I'm the only one that mentioned listening to the radio so...process of elimination indicates that he was directing that at my comment...and no, you're right he didn't quote me.
