I wish mass laws could allow you to swap any year engine not the same year bull shit.

Yup so my truck an 03 it must have a engine of the same year and pass emissions. Pre 1998 vehicles do not have to pass emissions in Ma so the engine swap law does not pertain to them. In RI there is no such law

 

Get an 03 LS-1 from a silverado

 

How is anyone going to know what year the engine is?

I had a 06 accord that needed an idler pulley, in order to change it, you had to loosen the motor mounts and jack up the motor such a stupid design. I still have a golf ball size scar on my arm from an oil change on it. Hit the cat trying to drain the oil

 

At least they don't stick the battery behind a tire.

No, but they've made up for it with much dumber things, believe me... The intake and battery are over the transmission fill plug and dipstick (neither are easily removed), you have to remove the entire belly plate to drain the transmission (because who cuts holes in belly plates to service things, right). The belly plate is held on with about 20 of those stupid plastic clips, similar to the ones Toyota uses to hold in the grille and radiator shroud and the belly plate wraps up to both wheel wells, it's huge. The problem with those plastic pins is, when they're mounted low and upside down, salt and grit gets in the pin portion of it and you can't pull the head out to remove the plastic pin without breaking them. Next time, I might actually hole saw the belly plate so I can drain the transmission fluid.

They also recommend a valve adjustment at 30k miles which I skipped.
