So on my way to work this morning a large Male Mallard duck flew from the brush next to the road directly in front of me while I was traveling 50mph. The duck hit and went flying over the truck and landed rolling in the road. I checked the grille when I got to work and it is cracked all up. I was just wondering which brand of billet grilles are the best for their money, (possibly cheapest) and best quality? Thanks in advance. Today wasnt too much fun.

Sorry th hear about the truck and the duck. I have and like my Grillecraft mesh grille. They also make a billet grille, I think they run around $160.

Duck damage:eek: Thats a first for me. I was in on the Grillcraft group buy and I'm happy with mine.

I think it would look good with a black grill instead of chrome on a black truck.

That sucks, Got any pics? Do you need the whole grille? It kinda sounds that way and if so, then you'll need to buy a new or used one and then install the billet/satoshi/whatever inside of it.

be glad you still had something of a grill. Had it been a mesh style grill (satoshi type), you'd been buying a new radiator or condenser.

I have a T-Rex billet grill in mine. Had to tweak it a little to make it fit like I wanted it to, but nothing major.

I thought about it but two things, bruised meat tastes horrible and that duck was flopping on pavement for several seconds. And 2 I would have been late for opening the store. Not something I needed on my record.

Thanks all for your help I am still doing research. The grille doesnt have to be replaced but I hate the way it looks now. Its hard to detect without looking for it but me knowing its there just pisses me off. I would like to try and install Off Road, or driving lights behind the grille if possible.

While I am doing a bit of modding... Is there any way i can do the 5100's myself instead of going to a shop? If so is there anyone willing to do a writeup for me?

Yeah but bruised meat doesnt taste great. and what am I going to do with a dead duck in the bed for 8 hours of baking in the sun. I would have had buzzards all over my truck that would be a cool pic, but a mess to clean up.
