Does a heavy duty bumper affect MPG.

For an I4, yes, but V6 has copper plugs with 30K mile intervals.

I don't even get 300 miles per tank, and that's just because of my tires. I use to get around 330 a tank prior.
I just noticed you have a 4 cyl.

 

Yes. And its supposed to be 17 city and 22 hwy. If I'm getting 300 miles to a tank assuming 3 gallons left when light comes on a 21.1 gallon tank; thats 16.6 miles per gallon. Not very good. At least not what I expected. I'm guessing something isn't right?

 

you def have roughly 4 gallons left when the light goes on, so you're prob getting over 17 mpg

 

Don't forget if your tires are larger than stock it would throw off your milage calculations... just a thought.

Yeah, that's the first thing I looked at. They are stock 245/75-16.

This might be what will happen. If I could find someone with a stock bumper that matched the color, I'd probably just do an even exchange.

Yeah I think so. I got my "mod" days out of my system owning a wrangler. I know it's almost a sin, but it might be best. Plus I do like the stock front end.
