Dad and I took a last minute trip down to the Bahamas to do a little bonefishing.

Spent 2 days on the water with a guide and had a blast. Day one was perfect weather. Fish were chewing in the morning and shut off in the afternoon.

Day two was less than desirable weather (20+ winds and cloud cover early) fish had lock jaw in the morning and were chewing in the afternoon.

Both days we probably landed 10 or so fish give or take. Not a bad way to spend a couple days.

    Day 1

Looks like they were shot with an arrow, but why? Do you eat them, I don't know of any Gar I would want to eat.... that is just me. I might be sheltered a bit but I heard they were as disgusting as Carp

Carp are good, so are Gar. You just have to know how to cook, and how to cook them more importantly. Carp are big in the Asian markets. Gar in the bayou. Had some smoked cajun seasoned gar when I was there.

Archery for fish is lots of fun too. Jugging is interesting too when done responsibly.

That is combination of long nose gar and spotted gar. There are a few carp amongst the pile. We shot 35 bowfishing Friday night. If you've never been bowfishing it's addictive. Btw that is just a 16ft alweld with a 60 hp Yamaha. Nothing fancy. Just customized:)

Not at all. Might have gone 3 lbs. I didn't weigh it. Might have been 20" or so. I told someone it was probably about 18, but I think it was bigger than that.

Dwalden are you at all familiar with Jekyll ISland,GA? My friend is getting married in June and I wanted to see if there is anything about the area both good and bad to know about before I get there. I am going to try to fish fresh and deep sea.
