Went to the dealership to get spring cleaning supplies for the motorcycle and I was tempted to walk out with a leftover 2012 CB1000R

I loved it so much I turned my 600RR to look like it. Then I found out Honda US finally decided to sell it in 2012. Never thought the dealer here would get one due to its limited availability.

    Here's my 600.

Was partial to Yamaha at first. Grew up in a Yamaha family. My dad loves Yamaha's

Tried the 1000cc. Traded my friend for a day. Couldn't throw it around like the 600. Plus I got enough parts on the 600 to boost its power comparable to the 1000. My friend wanted to give up his bike on the spot for mine. Lol

I'd go for the CB1000R. The one I posted. That's probably the only 1000 I'd consider going up to.

Yah there is a considerable weight difference between the two, i rode a co workers Busa awhile ago and it felt like i was riding a sleek fat boy harley haha plus that those Busas scare me due to the runaway problem that some of them had.

My friends co workers first bike was a busa. He drove it up a hill and to a soccer field when he was learning to ride. I don't know why he chose a busa as his first bike. Smh

I learned on a R6 and it still took me awhile to control the throttle and get the shift points down just right, Learning on a bike like a busa is just stupid, Thats like learning to drive in a six speed Lamborghini.

I learned on a Yamaha RS. Then off and on friends bikes. Wasn't really into riding until my friends got bikes. That's when I got myself a new 600RR. It's been 5 years now and I'm the only one left riding. Everyone else sold their bikes after losing a few friends.

These machines are definitely not to be taken lightly thats for sure, Just gotta wear your leathers and helmet and be aware of your surroundings 24/7 on a motorcycle.

I don't have leather. But I have textile and a full riding under armour. Some people ask why I wear so much gear. I tell them that I lost friends because they didn't wear theirs. Albeit it was mostly because of lack of experience. But in any case, gear would have probably saved their lives. One of my friends has a metal plate on his head after a single crash. I've been down three times. Two times was deliberate dumping of the bike to save myself. Walked away on all three accidents. My best example of wearing gear is that I have a friend with road rash from a low speed 5 mph crash. I have the same road rash from a 60 mph crash. Only because the ground ate through my jacket. I told them to imagine if I wasn't wearing a jacket.

I've got the shivers just thinking about that. That's not a situation I want to be in.

Skin Vs Pavement is never a fair fight. When i see guys on there bike with there girlfriend riding bitch wearing a mini skirt and a short short sleeve shirt it pisses me off. One time i was with my dad and this kid had the exact thing going, No helmets girl in the back with a skirt and this kid is splitting lanes doing 65+, my dad closed the gap before he got to it and that pissed him off so he felt like a big boy and passed my dad and signaled for him to pullover. Well unfortunely the kid didn't expect my dad to immediately throw the truck in park and right as the girl got off my dad kicked his gas tank and the kid went rolling down the hill as he tipped off his bike. After that he came up screaming that he was assaulted but unfortunely this guy had made no friends on the roadway, People had stopped and were yelling for my dad to kick his ass, Of course the kid didn't want to fight back after he saw the size difference and in the end my dad ended up having this kid call his parents and the same with the girl to let them know just how he was riding with her on the back. The cops eventually showed up along with the parents of both kids and all said and done the bike was put on a flatbed, The kid was given multiple tickets because of all the witnesses to him riding like an ass and after that we left.

Sometimes when you see something going on that you know is wrong, You should step in when you know you can possibly save a life or two.

I remember my crashes vividly. Time slowed down each time. I still don't know how I managed on two of my crashes. Every time I explain how it happened and what I did. I question how I am still alive.

I try to educate people but sometimes it's pointless. So I just tell them my case and leave it up to them. I attended a party one time and this db showed up with a bike with a girl wearing no gear. Then he decided to show up by doing a wheelie down a hill with the girl. It didn't end up pretty.

Amen. People don't even think of me as a rider most time. Well that's because I'm in my gear when I ride and they don't see me. Unlike the majority of riders here. They know the other riders because they don't wear any helmets.
