Glad it all worked out for you, I know the financial pain that comes with the emergency visits. We live right nexts to Tufts Animal Hospital in Grafton, MA which is a great place to have to take a pet for the best care, but a terrible place to save money.

It's interesting explaining vet bills to people who do not have animals. They see them as 'only a dog' and don't get why I would put up 3K to fix her. They look at you kinda retarded-like after saying, "I don't see her as a dog, she is part of my family."

I know what you mean. People would do everything they could to make a family member better, why not the dog? He's part of the family.

We were up in Maine, and it happened at like 730 pm on a Sunday. Closest emergency vet was a little over an hour away in Portsmouth NH.

People don't understand why "we" pay to save our family members lives because they don't understand the value of life. Life is much to precious to worrry about money...our little guys count on us and as long as I'm around my mob (five of them now) will get the best care VISA and I can give them....

    An update on Pink Floyd!

He still has live Demodex mites despite weeks of treatment. Grrr. But his infections are all clear and he has some FUR! His legs and belly are bald/peach fuzz but otherwise he has real fur. He is obsessed with me and is so adorable in a pathetic way (but he's super happy now!)

So much better than being left in a taped-up box outside the closed animal shelter!

Here he is being snuggled by one of his fans, who saw him when he was so incredibly sick:

Really missing my dog... It's been 3 months since I've seen him. I live in the dorm rooms on base and we're not allowed to have pets.. Hopefully I'll have my own place by this time next year though...

And yes-- the CareCredit vet credit card (deferred interest for up to 18 months!) + PetPlan pet insurance are GREAT. I recommend both to anyone getting a puppy. The PetPlan insurance has paid me out over $3500 so far, and my premium is under $1/day.

And yes, I agree with you guys. Anyone who belittles me for spending my own money on my dog can suck it, frankly. lol Recently someone gave me crap for spending a bunch of my money at the vet pulling my dog's broken teeth. Not sure what this person thinks I should have done... let him have bleeding, painful teeth? Put him to sleep because of teeth? Dump him at the shelter? No way.

An old pic but here he is before we went into the training room. He is probably 100 lb... great dog and his sister is just as impressive, just smaller. She is the kind of dog that you just let go in the room...she will find what ever is in there
