To be honest I never really looked at his so I couldn't tell you if they are similar. I'm basing mine off off bud built and box rocket.

On that note. I'm happy with progress so far..... Time for lunch.

well shitt. haha all along I thought you were doing LCA skids for some reason. I think I associated IFS with LCA. BAMF doesn't make IFS skids.
The LCA skids are a whole nother monster.

3" lift by prev. owner. Unfortunately, he did the lift on the stock suspension, so the ride is really stiff.
Ok Here is what I've got on the front.

Yep. You have spacers. That causes the stuff ride. I ditched mine for old man emu........ Much better

Yea go swap for coil overs. More expensive but a day and night difference in ride quality.

Wondering if you have the AAL (Add a Leaf) in the rear or if they went with a block, im assuming a block if you have the spacers up front. If you swapped those spacers out with a proper coilover setup like OME or toytec / bilstein you will be very happy with the ride quality. Or you can just take the spacer lift off and get back to stock ride quality.

So yeah... like everyone has said you gots a spacer lift. But on top of that you have the original shock and springs from 2005. Both are probably contributing to your shitty ride right now. OME is definitely more cost effective but I love my Toytec coilovers. I guess it depends on what you plan to do off road with your truck.

If you decide that you don't want to buy a lift, but you want a better ride quality I have a complete suspension kit from 2012 TRD off road That I would sell to you for cheap. I also have a pair of add a leafs for the non-TSB leaf pack. Let me know if you are interested. The wife says I have to start getting some of the stuff out of the garage!

Thanks everyone for the advice. Next step, getting parts and doing it! Definitely considering having it done, but would rather do it myself (?). I'll be checking out some videos on here to see about it. Any recommendations on shops that I can go to in the Denver/Aurora area just in case?

I've done a few if you have the right tools its not bad. There are a few mechanics around the metro area on here. I'm sure they might chime in soon. * Cough * lotsoftoys *cough* gohigher.

I'd definitely be interested, but would want someone to look at them with me. Unfortunately it isn't going to be able to happen anytime soon, but I am wanting to come up to Fort Collins soon. I love the New Belgium Brewery! Anywho, I'll let ya know on that. Feel free to PM me so that I can keep track of your name on here. Thanks!

My advice is to go out and see some trucks on here that you like in person. If you like something you see just wait and do it right the first time. I am sure everyone has tried to save money at one point and spent more in the long run. With that said, be realistic with what you want out of the truck. Stock tacomas with 285s and sliders/skids gets you pretty far...

    Welcome.

Hey there. I do have sliders and a skid plate already mounted. Really, just looking to improve the ride for now. I know I need new tires, but suspension is first on my list. I'll keep my eye out for some trucks I like for sure. I just like everything I see at the moment though, Haha. I am really just trying to educate myself on what would be the best setup for me. I'm from southern Utah and have done a ton of off-roading, but mainly in my boyfriend's jeep, just because my truck is such a rough rider. It has a ton of potential though and I'm ready to get out there. My truck just needs to be ready now too
