i have a set of hellas in my garage, prob never going to use them.

 

I just bought a light bar for the bumper and am in the market for some lights guys, just saying!!!

 

Get shittier lights for you poor folks

 

Ya but they are cool. i will probably use mine on the backroads when i leave for work at 5 in the morning and there are deer all over the place.

 

That and I usually come home after midnight anyway.

I do some night wheeling, plus going up to my cottage at night is sketchy in the dark

 

Jasper is offering amber LEDs now. Dont let me spend more money im going to be broke soon because of this site.

 

Look at your trek bar Friday and tell me jasper is worth it lol

 

No lol. I want LEDs. I converted all my cheap flashlights to LEDs and there bright so now I want a led bar. But after spending 400 to fix my bike, no spending for awhile.

 

Flashlights and light bars are totally different...

I agree with Dave, I think LED's are a fad. They either have to come down in price or the throw needs to be able to beat halogens and keep up with HIDs. Don't get me wrong, they're really cool lights, but weighing cost against performance, I can't justify getting a set.

The benefits I see with LED's is that if one LED goes out, you still have a whole row of them so you don't completely lose the light and also the relatively lower power draw. They used to have small size on their side but as projectors get more common and become better, they're going to lose that battle I think. Light output-wise, HIDs will still beat out the LED bars. The issue with HID's is you have ballasts and bulbs, so more to go wrong and they don't like to be cycled frequently or they crap out. They also have a relatively low draw compared to the light they put out when compared to halogens and they are coming down in cost. Generally, you'll have multiple lights anyways so, if you do lose one, you still have plenty of light but might have a dark spot.

I said lights for my metal light bar sir..lol.and I already paid my taxes. As a homeowner it's like I'm lucky if they even spit on my asshole before they screw me.
