Go to monoprice.com and buy a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter. Then use a regular HDMI cable to connect to your TV. It will pass video and audio. Double check the specs on your computer, but I believe all Macbook Pros have Mini DisplayPort.

Or for a wireless solution if you do it frequently VVVVV

I'm trying to free up space on my macbook pro, I looked in the " about this mac" under "storage" and all I have is 9Gb available. In the yellow block "other", it says I'm using 83GB alone there. How do I found out what exactly is stored there? That's alot of memory being utilized there.

Actually, the behavior of the red "x" button can be changed to act more like Windows (quit app when last window is closed). Just download and install RedQuits v2.0 by Carsten Mielke (donation-ware). Make sure the Accessibility API is enabled beforehand (explained on website) and restart after the install. Works (though not perfect - some quirks with certain apps) with Snow Leopard, Lion, and Mountain Lion.

Okay, with Safari (6.0.3), when editing the text of comments to post in forums like this one, typefaces such as bold, italic, underline, and similar are shown wrapped in code, such as left square bracket B right square bracket, instead of displayed in the actual typeface (bold text, italic text, etc).

Same with links, email addresses, and similar - a real mess with complex comments. Of course, all this displays normally (bold, link, etc) once posted.

This behavior is consistent in other similar internet forums (likely a Safari or Mac OS issue, not a website issue).

Anyone have a clue how to change this to display the actual text being edited in bold, italic, or whatever?

That's not a Safari thing, it's a V-Bulletin thing. In order to keep things uniform across any browser, we have to do the "legwork" with the "coding" and the forum/system does the work of displaying once it's actually it's posted i.e. No, I don't think there's a way to change this.

It could be a Safari thing. My browser (Firefox or IE) shows the text formatted rather than the BB code (e.g. bolded rather than showing tags). You could try clicking the [IMG] button in the upper right corner of the editor. It toggles the editor between code and wysiwyg. I usually have to click that button to see the BB code. Maybe it's off by default in Safari.

It could also be the editor you have as your default. On mine, the Standard Editor will show the code when editing whereas the Enhanced Editor will show it formatted (Control Panel -> Edit Options).

Oh, it's definitely a Safari thing. It appears Safari is not compatible in some way with the WYSIWYG Message Editor within the V-Bulletin software used by this website. Like Robert said, Internet Explorer (Windows 7) shows the formatted (WYSIWYG) text while editing. I thought that was the norm until I started using Safari. Sadly, I've searched all over Safari for a way to change this behavior, with no success.

No luck, Robert. In fact, clicking on that button while within Safari seems to do nothing at all. Already played with the editor settings within this site's control panel.

I'd send a pm to tcBob. There might be a bulletin board patch for Safari.

I forgot about this, the same thing happens for me on Safari on my Mac at home.

I actually don't even see the [IMG] button.
Don't have the increase/decrease size buttons either. Both show up in Firefox on the same Mac.
And that is regardless of the editor being set to Standard or Enhanced.

Apple key, shift and 3 all at he same time. If you do Apple, shift and 4, you'll get a cross hair curser, use this to capture only what you want, instead of the whole screen.

Anyone else furious that Apple maps now automatically re-centers on your GPS location when you open it? I always keep the map showing an area that I check for traffic every morning on my commute. Now instead of just launching the app and glancing down I have to try and pinch/zoom my way back to where I was while driving. I do this on road trips all the time too, set the map to where I know there will be potential for traffic then pop back in the app to check it later. I stuck with Apple maps this long, but this change is idiotic. Just downloaded Google maps and making the switch. /rant

Can you turn off the GPS antenna? That would prevent it from locking on.

Just orders the 5100/AAL lift. 15x8 wheels and 33x12.50 tires...
I have been using macs for years (as a software developer), and I have never installed any type of anit-virus. I am just careful where I browse to and what links I click. There are viruses for Mac, and if others are going to be using this mac (like kids who will click on f*cking everything), then go for it. If not, then just be careful where you browse and what you download.
