    LS1-T56 swap, Z06 ported heads, cam, Titanium valves, Kevlar clutch. Now building a forged stroker (383) and all the ponies! Old setup was rod-knockin on heaven's door...
    Yep, a crossbar is a MUST IMO. But then you have a big OL tube back there, bummer...no more full bed. I dont like compromises. The BAMF kit would be good if it were just a bit different and you can have your bed too!

    Why can't the bar be made removable? You would only possibly "need" it if you were offroad.

    This would make the most sense, even for a tower setup. The towers do not flex but the small footprint area that is attached to the frame will certainly flex, the frame becomes the weak link and should be supported with a cross bar, especially on a c-channel frame.
    I would guess that the amount of flex in a heavy duty tubular setup without a crossbar would be less than a tower without a crossbar because the flex is in the frame and the load is displaced over a larger area.
    Either setup at the end of the day should be tied together with a brace if you intend to hammer your truck, same goes for the front coil buckets.

    I thought I read that Landon addressed this in a hoop system on his brothers ride? and a 2.5 shock.

    My buddy put a good amount of support in my vehicle. Its a heavy bitch, but the cage doesn't wiggle and everything seems to be in the same spot it started. I agree 100% with Jason, I have had stuff sneak up on me in my baja bug I had and it was good that it was over built.

    Yeah the C-channel frame is not the strongest, too bad there is a ton of stuff in the way making it difficult to plate and close it...

    The shock hits before the hole lines up and pretty darn close on the sides. ANd it wasnt quite centered, just a pic for reference.

    So 2.0's fit perfectly in there? Looks like the upper mount on the 2.5 is just like 1/8 to tall

    I liked the idea of this kit, but then i found out it wont work with the stock wheels, and the tires will rub if i run spacers.. think im just going to strap the axle qnd forget the extra inch of down travel.

    The tires should clear if you run spacers I thought. I havent done one with stock wheels or stock offset so I cant say from experience, but if you spaced it out I think you would be able to do it. Did you ask Jberry?

    On another note I am going to make something up for those 2.5 shocks somehow, I got everything else done (front UCAs, spindles, brake lines, leafs, bumps). So I will figure something out. All I got left is getting mounts built for those suckers..
