A friend of mine has a 1996 Tacoma and his front suspension is gone. I have a pair of front 2013 TRD shocks and springs. Will the shocks fit on 1st gen?
Has anyone try to do it?

No they won't. They are about 3" longer with the much long lower extended spindle part.

    They won't fit.

If they are 3" longer wouldn't that give like a 3" lift? If everething else fits.

Be nice if it was that easy.. I mean they'll go on but without getting into all the geometry it'll send your UCA's into the coils & ride like absolute shit

I recently went thru the horror of seeing/riding in a 1st gen with exactly what you're asking... I had him talked into getting some Toytec/Eibach coils, changed out the assembly, installed the coils & now he's loving 3" lift with great ride....

    Dont do it...

This tells me you understand very little about
    suspension geometry.

    Besides being too long...
I'll bet the valving is all wrong as well.

    waste of time IMO

That's way I have you guys;). I never work on a 1st gen.
I asked this question so I don't have to take everything apart and have the same conclusion as you.
