I noticed 2nd Gen goes up to 2012. 2013 looks exactly like 2012, so I am guessing they run the same parts and such??

Looking to do headlights, taillights, bull bar, etc.

I believe 13 has different headlights and radio, but not 100% sure.

    2005-2011 headlights are interchangable.
    2012-2013 headlights are interchangable.
    2005-2013 tailights are interchangable.

I'm sure there are many more minor differences, but I know in my 2013, I have an option for "OFF" for my lights, in addition to "DRL". In the 2012, I thought DRL were on always.

I think he's referring to the description of 2nd Gen on the fourm page. It should be 2005- present, but no one updated it after 2012.

Yes, the 2013 is included in second gen...

There was a face lift for 2012, and more changes for 2013. 13 added a smog pump, DRL off switch, and updated exhaust hangers that I know of off hand...

Yeah I have asked many times here if anyone knows enough about the wiring to know if the 13 light stalk with the DTL OFF feature would work on a 2012. I would REALLY like to have that set up. I tried to ask at the dealership but they act like they don't want to help and just brush me off.

I've asked before as well, I would purchase the '13 stalk in a heartbeat and install on my '12 if it worked.

OK, So if a 2012 does not have DRLs,

We know the lights used for the DRLs are a different wattage right,
It's not just a "parking" light being illuminated, or is it?

So how could installing a switch from a 2013 turn on and do what it took a relay and harness to do on a 2012 that didn't have DRLs?

Or is the switch on the 2013 DRLs just illuminating the front "running" lights a little brighter to act as DRLs?

If they are the same setup as the prior models, the bulbs and connectors are setup for DRL. The bulb has an extra filament and the connector has 3 holes for 3 wires. 2 hots and a ground. This is how people, myself included have done the mod to turn those lights on when you want. Mine turn on with my parking lights. 1 filament for the turn signal, and one for the constant light (DRL).

All you have to do is splice into your parking lights and run that wire into the connector of that bulb.
