And the Y-Pipe and exhaust are very easy to install. Gadget should include some instructions for tightness of bolts, but it is very simple. I had a little trouble installing the headers and I recommend having someone help you do it.

Why the change from shorties to long tubes? I know they're a lot easier to install but the gains from shorties are

    Sorry, missed ya......

I've heard the low end loss from long tubes isn't as bad as some make it to sound......plus the fact that no longer live in southern california its harder to find shops that I trust to weld the shorties.

The boys at xru and a few here have swayed me......some have done both installs....first shorties, then they went to longs.....seems like im canceling out 1 step.

Thorleys got the 2nd gen tubes also which may reduce rasp some iirc.....but I know I may have to order a resonator or install a 14" or 18" magna also inline.

Truck will only be used off highway of course  *cough* *cough*

I heard the full exhaust with the New MK2 exhaust, over the phone with Gadget. I didn't hear a lick of rasp. It sounded beautiful.

Phone and person are obviously different, anr thus good to keep your current muffler, just in case. But I have a feeling that it will sound very good. Annnnnnnnd it will be time for a new exhaust video! Woot!

Also, the 4x4 Y-pipe fits both vehicles. The 2wd does not.

Ill do what I can............Ive got a couple locals comin by to help with install and to help kill some food.......Im sure we can get a clip.

Also may have found a local Dyno.....If I can get there on a tues or wed I may be able to swing a before and after session. But, my before wont be stock....It will be URD intake and MAF Calibrator.
But I dont see those 2 items having THAT much impact over a stock dyno.....Im more than happy to be proven wrong tho of course :)

Didn't forget about the dyno guys........working lots of OT, and still waiting for parts to ship. URD was waiting on the 02 sim extensions and the y-pipe to be made.

I know u can reuse the original manifold gaskets, but im thinking about ordering new ones from toyota just in case.....I swear I have had a small exhaust leak since about 2yrs ago, and I would hate to do all these upgrades and end up with a leak.

Ill try to call the dealer 2morro.......till then, anyone have an idea what the gaskets go for?

Prolly gunna volunteer for 16hrs tonight, so ill check this on lunch around 10pm, or 4am.

    ?

    Timeframe?
the notice is on the website, and Gadget confirmed with a phone call the next day after I ordered....as usual they offered to send parts as they showed up, and send all in stock parts now.....I asked them to send it all at 1 time for easier tracking and order fulfillment....im not tryin to give urd a bad name at all.....u know they are great at customer service. So don't misenturpret the info

Just didn't want you all to think im blowing this off........overtimes are effecting any mods too tho.....im still staring at mattgeckos uninstalled bedlights, and oil catch can.

My better half will be going to RN school next year so I need the O.T. to buy her a new car and be able to cover all our bills.

It will pay off, literally in the end.

It will definitely help keep the engine bay temps down. That is always a plus.

Think wrapping the intake tube, headers, and Y is a good plan?

Thorleys look kinda hard to wrap effectively......does the ceramic coating they come with help?

Was wondering about the intake tube (urd) to help decrease any heatsoak.

Y pipe wrap to keep heat transfer from the trans pan?

I already have the URD TCAI and I am thinking of going JBA shorties and exhaust.

Would love to know the before and after dyno numbers.

Tor has a few dyno sheets in his thread.........the gains from lt and shorties will be somewhat differant......and im not sure what exhaust ur getting.

I've also got the maf calibrator installed, a new map sent, and don't forget I have the y pipe coming. Ill also be completely cat free

Sheets will be up asap.....again, work is taking priority....but atleast all the parts are paid for in cash so im not backing out :)

Just curious, if I'm keeping stock exhaust, is it even worth getting the long tube headers? I had brap on my last Tacoma and I'm not wanting it again...drone got really annoying after a while.

Ill leave that to Tor, or Mem.

Id say it should help but the stock y pipe will be a bottle neck

If I get the y pipe, won't the exhaust be a limiting factor as well?
I just don't want a loud truck...I know the intake, heads and a y pipe will be louder than stock...but I can't handle an exhaust drone.

The exhaust, I don't know exactly how restriictive it is... I think 2.5 would be a good compromise. I guess I should have said, "the stock Y will be the first bottleneck after the headers"
Loud is subjective and hard to nail down without a video, but I see many posts about 2 straight through mufflers inline used with some exhausts.....and/or resonators.

Im a bit worried too, but that's why im keeping my current magnaflow muffler in the garage until I know I like the notes the urd 3" hits.

I rlly think 3" may be overkill for n/a, but who says im gunna stay n/a forever right?

    Its a gamble, I know.....but I trust Gadget and the X guys.

Just don't throw a chokemaster on it....they are pretty bad when it comes to highway drone, and the chambered design iirc may cost hp.
