Totally jealous of having a remote start, Just a question how does that work? Do you still insert the key to engage the tranny or what?

 

Well hell man that sounds like a good job to be in, I wish i was that 17 year old thats worth 30 million all because of a damn phone app.

 

When you get in, you put the key in the ignition and turn it to on. Then you go on your way. Easy as that.

Oddly enough I seem to struggle more in my business classes. I feel I could run a business ok but I don't like working with fictitious numbers. Id rather be able to apply it.

 

What and how much did that all cost you man? just curious i might be looking into a viper remote start.

The newer DEI alarms come programmed out of the box for manual trans. You actually have to reprogram then to work with autos.

 

Well I have a hypothetical job lined up lol.. If the hiring freeze doesnt go away for a while I wont lol

 

Oh so you just have to have it on the ON position and not completely to the right on the 3rd click- running?

Mainly because it's what the dealer my mom worked at installs. It works well. I got a deal on it and it was $350 installed. Usually they are about 2x that. It's sick though. The remote vibrates to warn you when someone fucks with your truck. I would get a viper though.

 

Mine is programmed for auto and the manual part is gone. Can't go back now.

 

Does that DEI have an alarm system as well? For some reason my truck didnt come with an alarm system so having that with a remote start would be really worth the cash.

 

I only have accessory, on, then past on is start and the key comes back to on after it's started. The engine is already running so you don't need to start it again... Unless you step on the brake before the key is in... then the truck shuts off as a thief proofer.

Yes, it has a shock sensor and engine immobilizer if it senses that someone was messing with it.

Mine doesn't engage the starter again if the engine is already running so I can turn it to start and it doesn't matter.

 

A remote start with alarm has just become a mod on my modlist lol

 

Fancy. Mine does the god awful grinding lol. It's extremely nice having it in the winter. Just had to train myself to remember to put the heater and defroster on full blast every time I got out.

 

Id probably be horrible at remembering this, Plus my heat seaters lol id forget quite alot.

 

Some of the alarm systems allow you to control the climate and windows and stuff with the remote. I can hook up the sensors but they aren't too cheap.
