I understand that the deal with Boston was as good as done and it was Iginla who nixed it.

Aaron Ward posted "Apologies, had multiple sources confirm a trade that did not happen." on his twitter.
that's weird, because it looked like he just pulled out his phone, looked at it for a couple seconds, and said the deal was done as they were about to break for commercial. so unless he got multiple texts/emails simultaneously and read multiple texts/emails in a couple seconds he's full of shit.

Only thing Zuccarello will provide is to push current players to work harder. He'll be there waiting for a roster spot. Is Torts wearing off on the Rangers yet? They have to be tuning him out soon.

Who knows for sure, but I gather Feaster had both of those deals ready to go. The Boston deal was obviously his preference given that it was a touch sweeter with the highly regarded Russian junior player. I could see how Iginla may have forced Feaster to take the Pittsburg trade, prefering it as a destination. Stuff could have easily been said that led Boston to believe the deal was theirs given that they had clearly offered the better return. Ward's contact likely jumped the gun just as Feaster may have said too much. I am sure you could trace this down the line...

I think the package the penquins offered is the better of the two. mainly because the 1st rd pick isn't conditional. had Iginla gone to Boston then signed elsewhere next season, no 1st rd pick.

ahhh, I didn't know that it was conditional. That would make it a richer deal for the Flames, though it still seems like small pickins for Iginla. Pittsburg's first round pick it likely to be 3oth overall.

I can't imagine the Pens will have cap space to re-sign Iginla unless they lose salary elsewhere

Flyers tickets are going for 1/2 price already :(

We got some serious motivational issues that can not be easily fixed. I fear some major moves in the off season.

First and foremost I'm calling for our GM's head. Next would be the guy who thought making Giroux captain this year was a good idea. Then it's time to get some god dam

if the leafs win tonight they will be 10 points up on 10th and 9 possibly on 9th, so basically in the playoffs and most likely playing the Jets. Should be a good series if it happens

would be good. The teams are developing some animosity towards each other on the ice.
